Yes, same way absence of a Makelele was making Zidane. Ronaldo, Figo, Raul fire blanks and getting knocked out by Lyon every UCL. An unbalanced team is an unbalanced team and will fail.

Now I am getting more confused...

Makelele na destroyer na

A quick check shows that the Argies team had Mascherano, an inform Cambiasso and a reliable Zanetti to paper whatever cracks therein...

They also had a Javier Pastore - a Decent/Versatile Midfielder who could do a tactical job...

I still don't see how a Makelele take enter again even when the embarrassing losses vs Lyon : them Figo and Zidane didn't start/feature abi the pics below dey wrong?

Ibime:

Whether by coaches design or by realities on ground, a golden generation should not be held responsible for failure caused by an unbalanced team. They did not pick the team. And it's not like options are jumping out at the manager either. You've gone as far as touting a 37 year old fullback as panacea to their midfield dilemma while some other nations such as Germany and Spain were 7 to 10 players deep in the midfield position

The manager had resources at his disposal but he failed miserably.

In-form Cambiasso/Zanetti/Samuel were left out of the team that lost scandalously to Germany but for some reasons, we are suppose to pat the manager on his back and also praise inform Messi, Tevez, Higuain,Aguero, Milito for firing blanks vs Useless defenders like Metersecker and Frederich because Xavi-esque player no dey midfield

Kaka was a good player but was a forward IMHO. He had zero midfield tactical responsibility and cannot be compared with a midfielder who does classic midfield duties and still affect the stats massively as KDB. It should be argued that Kaka should be judged against strikers goal for goal because he did absolutely nothing of midfield work

Pirlo, Ambrosini, Gattusso and Seedorf were the midfielders and Kaka was free as a bird. His classification as midfielder is nominal, he was a striker by all intents and purposes and should be judged with strikers

Kakas main strength was acceleration to glide away from players. He just ran past them like they didn't exist

But I don't see any scenario in which Ozil will glue KDB to the bench for 4 years like he did to Kaka.

Kaka also had that freak injury, which didn’t help his career at Madrid

Rest.

I did not argue with you about the manager, I told you why that generation lost scandalously and it was to do with the lack of midfield in that game which the team sheet confirms and anyone who watched the game confirms.

Anything else you are saying about how the manager could have mitigated the midfield is for the birds.

2006 World Cup Brazil tried to shoehorn Ronaldo, Adriano, Kaka and Ronaldinho into the same first 11. The result speaks for itself. If a generation likes, it can be golden or even diamond, if the right balance is not on ground, the team will fail

I was legit shocked the first time you mentioned you were a centre forward in your playing days.

I never see who carry midfield for head like you. Not even Cruyff, Guardiola, Xavi and Zidane go emphasise am like you πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Which injury?

Kaka first season at Madrid he only missed one month with injury. That was under Pellegrini incase anyone wants to blame Mourinho

Second season he missed 5 months, after that he was injury free

KDB has that layoff every year and still produces when he comes back

The truth is Kaka was used to operating with complete freedom at Milan and couldn't adapt to having some midfield duties and still producing at Real, he is not on KDB level

All these coaches are about midfield in one way or another. Games aren't necessarily won in midfield, but they are definitely LOST if the midfield is inadequate

Guys there's this argument that's been raging on Twitter since last night, and I'd love to hear y'all thoughts.

KDB or Kaka?
Kaka had a higher peak.
At his peak, he was the best player in the world, he could single handedly break defense alone.
That defence splitting pass he made against Liverpool in the 2005 CL final is still IMO the best I've seen. His speed was unmatched, on the counter he was unstoppable. Possibly the best counter attacking player ever.
While KDB is the more consistent player.
I think it boils to if you're making your decisions on peak ability or overall consistent performances.
I will say in a one off crucial CL match Kaka all day, but in league campaign KDB is better suited

So when did you start hyping Pulisic? In Stamford Bridge?

See as Raumdeuter dragged you into the gutter and abandoned you.

Next time, think well before you come out to support Dayo's foolish notion. Ciao.

This injury

Which one?

Kaka was at Madrid from 2009 to 2013

He only suffered 2 injuries there totalling about 6 months

KDB will miss that in a single season

If you like be balance from attack to defence to fans,if you don't have the right coach, what befell Argentina against Germany in 2010 will befall your team.

She ended the game with a hat trick. 3-1 win for the Blues, putting further distance between themselves and a fellow title contender

Ben Brereton Diaz scores on his PL debut!
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by BlueMann: 3:47pm On Jan 21
I remember signing Brereton the first time I decided to test Dream League Soccer years ago. Him and Wissa were part of my first ever XI, and they're the only two that've really made it to the highest level.

Oga this your exit strategy cannot work. You know me very well.

Bringing Dayo in our conversation won't help you

You made a list of players who you claim you hype and they end up being successful. I am here trying to analyse them one by one let's see evidence of when you hyped them as a no body and they ended up having successful careers.

You have failed to provide evidence on Kante. Now you are stammering on Pulisic.

Airmark why are you a cheap liar like this? When did you hype these guys as unknown players and they ended up successful?

I am still coming o. You see that list, we will dissect the players one by one.

The disrespect/hate on Kaka from Ibime is shocking tbh. Baba even went as far as comparing him to strikers. Lol. I personally think he's subconsciously projecting his dislike of Joao Felix on Kaka 'cos both are stylistically similar The youngins who never saw Kaka in his prime should not allow Ibime confuse them oh. Kaka was one hell of a footballer. His elegance on the ball was only surpassed by Zidane and Iniesta, IMO. Fantastic vision and could shoot with both feet. Unfortunately, he had a short peak due to injuries.

The KDB-Kaka debate is a close one. De Bruyne is the more rounded midfielder and has better numbers, but Kaka's magic and big-game ability trumps his. Kaka making fools out of Heinze and Evra in the CL semifinals of 07 is one of my funniest moments in football. One of the very few players to go head-to-head with CR7 and come out tops. Have some respect for the man!

He doesn't rate pure "AMs" because he considers them positionless!
