Hi. I am writing this as I cannot find much info on the "Niger wife" residency process online..

(Niger wife, meaning foreign wife of Nigerian husband, as far as I am aware)

I came here to marry my Nigerian man, as unfortunately his visa to Australia was denied. I am on a tourist visa and now want to apply for residency so I can stay here and live with him.

But how do I apply for residency? Is it a hard process? What do I need? And can it be done quickly?

Maybe someone who has had similar experience may know more in this topic and help guide me.

My husband mentioned getting a lawyer to do everything for us, and at a faster speed. Would this help? Thank you.

Letter of Application for Residence Permit by the Nigerian spouse accepting Immigration Responsibility
Copy of Special Immigrant Status approval letter by the Minister of Interior
Husband’s consent letter requesting for Special Immigrant Status / letter of consent from Niger-wife stating willingness to stay with husband in Nigeria
Nigerian passport bio-data page of spouse
Copy of passport bio-data page of spouse
Marriage Certificate
CERPAC Form
Two (2) recent Passport photographs
How to Apply
Applications for Special Immigrant Status / Niger-Wife shall be submitted to the Office of the Comptroller General, Nigeria Immigration Service Headquarters Abuja
or to the Office of the Comptroller of Immigration Service at the State Commands where the expatriate is resident by the Nigerian spouse
