Great article. During my NYSC in Abuja , I did a project Medicare for Prison Inmates at Kuje. The protocols and corruption in the system often deter good people from helping prisoners in Nigeria. Officials always looking for ways to enrich their pockets. If you leave medications for the clinic, they end up selling them. Upon getting an insider information from an inmate, we left with remaining medications for subsequent outreaches instead of donating to the prison clinic. What a pity.

Sincerely I didn't know we have such large numbers of prisons in Nigeria. Criminals are increasing because successive governments has been a failure. Meanwhile, Netherlands are closing down most of their prisons because crimes are going out of fashion.
