There is a big difference between surgery and this. Surgery may make a paralysed person to use his hand to operate his phone, but this implant will make the man despite being paralyzed but able to use his mind\brain\thoughts to operate his phone, even without touching it. This implants doesn't remove the paralysis, it only makes you live a better life even in that state.
