Abakaliki High Court Disqualifies PDP From Ebonyi South Senatorial Bye-election by AnonPoet(op): 5:08am On Feb 02, 2024
The Federal High Court in Abakaliki on Thursday, February 1, nullified the candidacy of Silas Onu as the PDP candidate for the Ebonyi South senatorial bye-election scheduled for 3rd of February.

Ruling on the matter, Justice Hyeladziya Ngajiwa affirmed that the party failed to conduct the required three-man ad-hoc and one-man national delegates who were mandated to vote in the primary election.

The Court, therefore, ordered the immediate removal of Onu’s name from the INEC portal.

this is exactly what is playing out Jos. But I bet if the election will hold. The supreme Court had stated that the appeal court lacks jurisdiction to decide on the matter. moreover, it's a pre election matter.

PDP is finished in Ebonyi. Only a ruling PDP in Abuja can make PDP capture Ebonyi Abakaliki again.

Has it not been decided at the Supreme Court that the issue of validity of candidate nomination and conduct of primary elections within a party is the party affair?

Courts are not expected to be choosing candidates or removing candidates from elections because it creates room for undue interference.

How does internal affair of PDP concern High Court?
This is the confusion they brought in Plateau State.
Why can't judiciary save our democracy?

Can the Court just get away from meddling in a party's nomination that is being challenged by a person who isn't a member of that party? Enough of all this nonsense.

Supreme Court has ruled that primaries are internal party affair and not for the court to decide. Our judiciary is in a mess, a High Court judge overriding Supreme Court, just look at the confusion created in Plateau state by that woman in Appeal Court, now another woman judge is doing her own in Ebonyi

The Judiciary (judges) and Inec are the major issues we have in Nigeria, if they gets things right politicians will always play by the rule

The judiciary is a mess like your sense of reasoning is misconstrued, the law mandates that 3 Persons must vote, only 1 Person voted, then you come & start talking nonsense about why the court got involved?

Oblivious minded Pharisee.

Untill when peoples started stoning all these yeye judges in the street before their head go correct, Supreme court will give judgement high court and Appeal court will be overturning supreme court judgement.

This high court judgement against that PDP candidate is an Abuse of Power.
Re: Abakaliki High Court Disqualifies PDP From Ebonyi South Senatorial Bye-election by Jostoman: 9:14pm On Feb 02, 2024
Appeal and high court now see themselves in the same level with supreme court. This kind of nonsense can only happen in nigeria.

What a shame from Judiciary.
