Women in Jos South LGA of Plateau State have seized and destroyed alcoholic drinks and related substances from shops across communities.

The exercise which took place mostly in Gyel District witnessed a large turnout of the women who claimed the substances were making their husbands irresponsible.

The women went from shops to joints where such products are sold, seized and destroyed them.

The women, who divided themselves into groups, were supported by young girls, children, vigilantes and other volunteers.

Some shop owners who heard of the exercise locked their shops and disappeared, but the women promised to come back with tougher measures.

Our correspondent gathered that the exercise had the approval of community and traditional rulers.

Our correspondent who monitored the exercise in Sabon Bariki and Bukuru Low Cost observed that the women were mostly concerned with locally produced alcoholic drinks and intoxicants they considered harmful and with high concentration of chemicals.

Good move!! They bear witness of the negative consequences the alcohol infiltrates on their husbands hence taking such action. This happened in a Christian dominated location, therefore stop cursing the sharia police in Kano and other Muslims dominated areas. Alcohol is always a bad substance no matter how some negative thinking people or authorities legalized it

When it comes to Burukutu, and deadly ogogoro combination, an average Plateau State man will guzzle it down with squeezing his face.

I worked there for a period of time and if you see how they consume Erujeje, Igboya and "Take Me To Hospital“ gin ehh, you will pity for them.

This excessive drinking habits of theirs make MOST of them lazy... Sometimes, you see the woman using the husband to smash the ground, because there's no strength anymore.

Is it because we are in the year of "No gree for anybody"?

The men from that area are truly given to alcohol binging.
I remembered some years back when the governor even banned opening of drinking joint within working hours and any one or joint caught flaunting the law was committed to jail.

There was even a ban on the drinking of a local spirit called GOSCOLO that time.

What the women did is actually a violation of the law also.

Instead of joining the other side to take away a man's joy, my good women from Jos should take other measures like learning different sex positions and using the help of the vigilantes to force their husbands to head to the farm; at least they would be killing two birds with one stone — the factors like cold which push these men to become bums and eradicating laziness.

Or better yet, do something better than this like replacing these poisons you destroyed with drugs such as ice, loupe, and many tablets my Arewa brothers who hate touching alcohol take — these shop owners will make more money and you can successfully turn your lazy husbands into zombies.

But always remember they can still switch into monster mode in a second so if you do not like this idea; ensure you ban all of these substances to avoid a backfire.

This is because this action will not stop the typical man from Jos, when he has burukutu and pami mixed with raw ethanol to fall back to.

Those shops are also owned by other women's husbands who contribute to the economy 100 times better than their lazy husbands.

Try to read again and to the end. The anger of the women is not against the consumption of alcohol but the ones being sold rather than their locally produced ones. They are fighting for their own business.
