The villagers are saving the guns to defend themselves. The can't trust the bandit or police

It will or atleast we would be doing something different.

This man's encounter shows that many unarmed people aspire to become terrorist but lack weapons. Imagine villagers using the arms to fight soldiers in defense of terrorists. It means the villagers want to join terrorism.

What he's saying is not clear to me... He said they kill terrorist but the villagers hid guns and then attack them from rear.. does that mean the villagers are working with the terrorist? If yes, then why the terrorist kills the villagers in the first place?

What he is saying is that there is collaboration between bandits, kidnappers and villagers. Who sells the bandits food and water? The villagers keep the guns to give to another set of bandits to keep the collaboration going.

The question is, who taught the villagers how to operate AK47 and machine guns?

An average northerner is an terrorist at heart. Their religious and traditional rulers are complicit. I spent well over 8 years in the heart of the north.
Those of us who comes from other regions tried to orientate them but their minds are fragile and are easily corrupted by their religious leaders. Even retired personnels are highly complicit. I pity Nigeria.

Thank God, we still have people on this platform who reasons.
According to him, "They killed terrorist, and the villagers take the weapons away". Did they kill the terrorist remotely or what? Because, it is hard to comprehend. Did they kill them and have to travel hundreds of kilometers to reach the terrorist afterwards?
God help us with the kind of people we have at the helms of our security affairs!!!!

He's being economical with the truth.

Most likely, due to the fact that the army comes after the attack, the villagers have risen to the task of defending themselves against the terrorists, then take away their weapons after killing them, maybe the army is expecting them to hand over the terrorists weapons along with their dead bodies.

For those doubting the credibility of the CDS , let me paint you this scenerio.

It is undisputable to every one that the Nigeria army now fly drones isn't it?

The army on several occasions have intercepted and neutralized terrorists and bandits using these drones but before ground troops get to the area of rendezvous , only burnt out carcases of terrorists without their weapons would be met.
In some instances, they even go with their dead.

Another scenario is when surveillance planes give the coordinates of terrorists and bandits hideout and the artillery unit is called into action.
The forward ground troop meet the same situation ( bodies without weapons).

So let's assume what u said are truth....u mean the army drone kills bandits the first time and ground troops do clearance and found no weapons so subsequently the drone can't be in air waiting on who will come n pick d weapons for elimination before ground troops shows up? Tell us something different?!!

What the defence minister meant is that whenever an air bombardment is carried out by war jets or drones and terrorist killed, before the arrival of the infantry army, some enemy sympathisers in the location or village would have got their earlier to pick their guns, money and belongings and waiting to attack the army or anyone else.
The far north especially their religious and traditional heads has always been sympathisers of Boko Haram and terrorist groups spread across the north probably as a favour to safeguard their lives.
The defence minister is right judging by his experiences out there.

Some of those terrains are sometimes unreachable or heavily mined and will need coordinated approach.

Accessing these locations will require traversing several enemy territories.

I lost my immediate younger brother in one of such missions.

The drones can not remain airborne forever you know.

You will need to see the terrain to understand the complexities of the CDS's comment.
