I know there's the copied version of the story in your Qur'an and allah claimed responsibility. There was no civilization during the time of David. There was no law of terrorism and God dealt with them according to the law at that time. If David hadn't killed Goliath, Goliath would have killed entire Israelites. He promised to wipe them out and take them as war spoilt and everybody knows there was no law against it. Any invader would kill your people even when you pose no threat against them and there's nothing the international community will do about it.

Why did David killed Goliath if killing is an abomination? They are conditions set by ALLAH for an individual to be killed but they are certain conditions and those conditions must be met. David and Goliath story is not a story of religious conquest of the Jews over the entire world. David was not fighting an offensive war but a defensive war against Goliath who challenged Israel to war. And God never command David to instruct Israelites to fight for YHWH until the whole world becomes Jewish kingdom.

Well, the group was founded by Dursun Karatas who was a communist, and thus very likely to be atheist.

You cannot be a good communist without being an atheist (true some communists try to synthesize religion with their beliefs...as seen with christian communists and the Islamic socialisim of SIad barre)...but he was a man of the left. HIs organisation was founded

Karatas was born as an Alevi though, a branch of Sufi Islam, that is also considered to be part of the shiites. Sufis generally don't do the fanatical stuff (though they still are very conservative muslims...just too much into mysticisim).

He was a violent terrorist (he died from cancer in 2008) but not an Islamist. HIs organisation used to be far more powerful than it is now.

IN ideology they are closer to groups like the Japanese red army, the RAF, the USA weathermen and the Peruvian shining path.
