Super Eagles defeated the Bafana Bafana 4-2 on penalties to qualify for the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Both regular-time goals also came from penalties with captain William Troost-Ekong scoring after 67 minutes for Nigeria and Teboho Mokoena equalised from a 90th-minute spot-kick.


The match finished 1-1 after extra time and the three-time champions will face two-time champions and hosts Ivory Coast, in the final on Sunday.

Sebastien Haller struck the winner as Ivory Coast kept their dream of lifting their first AFCON title on home soil alive courtesy of a 1-0 victory over DR Congo in a keenly-contested semi-final in Abidjan.
The hosts, who were a whisker away from being eliminated in the group stage, are now one step from being crowned Kings of the continent for a third time after producing one of their most assured displays of the tournament.

Nigeria and Ivory Coast are from Group A haven’t finished 2nd and 3rd on the table where Equatorial Guinea was the leader.
