If only drones were allowed without much security clearance and hassles, that was the time the kidnappers would have easily been tracked and their coordinates given to security agencies.

My heart goes out to the family of the slain driver who died trying to Eke out a living in this harsh economy and also to the brave little girl left behind by her assailants.

With a readily available extra-capacity battery installed, a used $500 DJI Mavic 2 Pro quadcopter can cover 13 miles at 27 mph on round trip back to base missions while filming in high resolution 4K video format. If the drone operator has access to a tall tower or building, signal connectivity will enable the drone pilot to report in real time about events unfolding 5 miles away, in order to inform military or police tactical operations.

A low-budget mobile command post in the form of an incognito van or car, could park 5 miles from the known danger zone, and be used to launch multiple drones on reconnaissance and surveillance missions along most of the now notorious danger zones that dot Nigeria's highways and byways.
