Good Evening, please I need help. Long post ahead

My charger burnt yesterday while I was charging my phone and the phone immediately went off. I tried turning it back on and also booting into safe mode but it didn't work. I also used another charger to charge it to know if it would power on but the screen was completely blank and the charging indicator wasn't showing either. I took it to a Samsung care center this morning and the attendant said I would have to change the motherboard (I have so many important unbacked up files so this was a very hard option to consider).

The issue is that when I plugged it in today, the charging indicator was showing (and is still showing as of the time of this post) but the phone isn't charging so I'm confused because I believe that if the motherboard was bad, then nothing should be coming up on the screen at all. Could the problem be actually the motherboard or something else? I would really appreciate any feedback

my friend was impressed by my galaxy note 20 ultra 5g, and he bought the phone one month ago, unfortunatly, the screen went off with out physical damage and he did not update the phone. does any one encounter this problem before, and how do you resolve it.

It's the motherboard boss, had a similar issue with my S10e except mine wasn't caused by a charger, it just went off and has refused to come on, even did that charging icon thing. I took it to several repair shops, they said i have to change the motherboard, even took it to Samsung office in Ph, same thing. and motherboard no cheap omo 😩

Get an hairdryer blower.... Focus it on the charging port at moderate heat ....also check for cotton threads therein too.

It's actually the motherboard that's faulty. It's being fixed now

I bought an S23 Ultra last week which is currently running on Oneui 5.1 and Android 13 and I haven't received any software updates yet.

I have tried Smart Switch and no update was found. OTA says Software is up to Date.

I did an Imei search which says my phone is carrier unlock via Verizon. My model number is SM-S918U.

What can I do to receive software updates?
