High costs of fuel, disel, floating of the naira against the dollars is the one causing the high costs of cement...not exporting the cement causing it... government has failed

The impoverished poor soldiers are looking for a way to increase their day income, thus arrested dangote truck.

Do not be surprised if I tells you that those trucks has gotten to there destination in Cameron even before the publication of this news.

The branch manager of the company might have settled with the poor soldiers with big amount and life goes on.

I left..!
Critical question: is cement export banned in Nigeria?

I don't understand the story too well.

From the report, the truck was arrested within Nigeria territory and not at the border crossing, right?

Why all the fuss about nothing?

Has food stuffs suddenly become prohibited items?

Export of food from Nigeria has not been officially banned yet. Why is the army running faster than its shadow?

Update;
I got the story confused with another post I read shortly before on hording of food. My apologies.
Stop fooling yourself. Just admit u were in a rush to comment grin wink cheesy

Signs of a collapsing economy, Nigerians should stock up on essential goods and dollars, we're definitely heading the venezuelan way
The level 6 civil servant earning ₦45,000 per month should probably also stock up on essential goods and dollars. huh

common sense should tell you the goods are been smuggled out, that's why the smugglers were arrested.
If it's smuggled out it's because a bad law was made.

Not with diamonds
Not with oil
Not with drugs
Not with porn
Not with guns
Not with alcohol
You now think you can ban food
They will just kill you to feed their families

How is it economic sabotage for a truck of cement to be bought and sold in a neighboring country? Some one is a willing seller and the other a buyer so what should be the problem? Is cement imported by Nigeria government and subsidized for Nigerians in which case selling to neighboring countries could be termed sabotage? in this case it is not. Dangote cement is private and last I checked is not subsidized for Nigeria market.
If a nearby town in Cameroon needs cement and the closest depot is further than a Nigerian town just across the border, should we not be happy they decide to buy from us?
That state governor says construction material are expensive in his state and therefore bans the export through his borders to force down prices, does that make any economic sense?
