Lawag3:Don't let him fool you with that "our league is world class" argument. South Africa is simply irrelevant when it comes to football. Their FIFA rankings justify that. Consider the World champions, Argentina. How many of the players that started the finals against France play in their local league? Heck, apart from Julian Alvarez, I doubt if any of them have played in their local league for the past 10 years. Out of all the countries they defeated in the WC, only Mexico and maybe Australia have leagues that are arguably not better than the Argentine league. Again, South Africa are basically irrelevant in football. A lucky third place finish wouldn't change that. 2 Likes |
