So, arithmetically, while APC traditional voters who are mostly from Oshiomole’s Edo North, remained constant, the PDP traditional voters split into LP and PDP. That’s how PDP ended up getting the shortest side of the stick during the presidential election.

What happened in Edo during the presidential election was not a verdict on Obaseki.

Besides, you cannot be sure that Obaseki was truly with Atiku during the presidential election even though he identified with him publicly.

Do you know within Edo North, there's a lot of dissatisfaction amongst the Owans and Akoko Edos on how Oshiomhole has usurped the turns of other parts of Edo North in political offices, by disregarding mutual understanding and equitable rotation among the sons and daughters of these areas?
Don't be surprised when you see unusual patterns from Edo North.

Edo South is not made exclusively of Binis, a significant proportion are actually Binis/Esans (even though they are the same people historically), this is same with the indigenes in Edo Central, and North. The separation into different dukedoms (in history) and senatorial zones of today was for some level of autonomy and equity in rulership. And majority of Edos recognize this and take it dearly.
