I've been in a dilemma for some time now, trying to choose which pathway I should use for my japa plan.

I would prefer to go with a study visa(to Portugal or Malta) as I'm more familiar with the process and can do everything myself without much help, and it's also easier to get the visa.

My problem with it is that it's quite expensive, and it will take some time for me to start doing full-time work to save tangible funds and cover up the sources I used in getting the japa capital.

On the other hand, a work visa looks great, but I'm not familiar with the process (I will most likely seek assistance from travel agents I know in person), I don't know the possibility of getting a good job within the time-frame the visa will last.

Thanks in advance.
Travel agents cannot arrange a work visa for you. You apply to a company based there, go through its recruitment process and if successful, the firm applies for a visa on your behalf.

As for digital marketer, sorry, but that is not a field western companies seek to employ foreigners, especially from Africa.

I made a mistake, I was actually referring to the job seeker visa category
Good luck getting a visa from Portugal's embassy in Nigeria (assuming it is operating sef).

If I can't find job visa sponsorship as a digital marketer, I'll apply for job seeker visa which will enable me get into those countries and apply for onsite digital marketing jobs, I believe I have options with any of the routes.

I can relate. It becomes stressful. This has landed me in a state of confusion.

I was using this travel agent who happened to be close friends with my big mummy. I Started conference visa stuff with him. He was not ready to start any telling of required documents to anyone until yiu have made a deposit of N1m.

I made deposit of N1m last year October. And he sent me long list of documents I am to start hunting. One of which is still pending.

According to the instruction, he was not going to submit any application until all documents are completed and after submission, if the visa is approved , then you balance a certain amount of money. But if the visa is denied he will refund you 550k

Those documents were too stressful and were making me travel to abuja n back and all that. I decided to give it a pause cos I was on a project at the the time and travelling up and down was costing me too much idle time with my team and subsequently affecting productivity, hence cost of running project became higher.

I came across another japa opportunity while yet still waiting to secure the last set of documents. This was different and it just requested few documents which I already had it clicked.

I am seeing worried how best to approach this man to refund money. I need it to prepare for my next trip. I pondered on it for days didn't know how to inform him. Alas, I informed him last 2 days that I have gotten an.oppoetunity somewhere else and that it was just few documents left to submit which I will need funds to sort out. The man just replied" Glory to God , congratulations keep me posted" and that's all.

I replied with " thank you sir".

I kept mute, after some minutes he sent me a message saying, when I arrive there I will help him secure some contacts in that country for him to start introducing to his clients. I said sure sir.

He did not say anything again since that chat. Could it mean he's forgotten I paid him or what could this mean?

Please guys what is your advise how do I present my point to him? I have the record of the transaction receipt I sent to him.

Help me come up with a strategic approach please I need the money to use it for one or two or things please

Thank you
You shouldn’t have told him you’ve gotten another opportunity.
you should have just told him you’re no longer interested in the japa again, that you need money urgently for some projects and since the documents are not forthcoming, you will be in Nigeria for the time being while focusing on your projects. He might not refund the full money but he’ll refund a good %, since he has not started working on it yet.

But now that you have told him, tell him the need for the money is urgent and be precise about when you need the money. Why are you waiting for him to bring it up?
Open your mouth and ask for the money you initially gave him, that the money is your hope to get tickets.
If your big mum can come in, let her come in.
Be polite and persistent, let him know you need it urgently.

Which one is work visa? Or you mean Job seeker visa?

For work visa, you need to get a work in portugal first before you can apply for work visa.

Job seeker visa is not cheap also. You need a health insurance that is worth 30,000 euros for you to apply.

I wonder how they think a job seeker will raise 30k euros. If I have that amount, wetin I dey find go Portugal.
interesting 30k euro for my bank account i remain here in peace abeg

They don’t want you to raise 30k Euro.

What they want the insurance to cover is a medical bill that it’s cost is up to 30k. Meaning that if you have injuries, and the cost of treatment is up to 30k, the insurance you have taken out should be able to cover that cost I.e. the insurance company will be able to pay the cost up to 30k euro. They too know that there may not be an injury that would be up to that.

Yes. The company arranges the visa and sends to the immigration bureau satisfying all requirements to employ a foreigner who resides outside the country. Once that is completed, you get notified to apply for a work visa at the country's embassy in Nigeria with the documents the company or immigration authorities has sent to you.

No agent secures a work visa for any applicant.

Have always say this, visit, conference or seminar is not the best route to use when traveling aboard... Job visa remain number one, follow by student visa. Few Europe countries are open and giving out visa like free product.. just know what to do with the right informations.. most people hold informations, cos nigerians know how to mess up vital information that can be of help to the right people...

This is just an insurance coverage policy in your name, not a prenium. You just need to get an insurance company to guarantee the 30k worth of the requested liability, shikena!
