Governor Otu Announces Fresh Edo APC Governorship Direct Primary Election by TruthsFM(op): 7:11pm On Feb 22, 2024

The Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Otu, who is the chairman of Edo State All Progressives Congress (APC’s) governorship direct primary election, has disclosed that a fresh shadow poll would be conducted in the 192 wards, across the 18 local government areas of the state.

Otu, who briefly addressed reporters at Lushville Hotel and Suites, Gapiona Avenue, Government Reservation Area (GRA), Benin, revealed that last Saturday’s controversial primary election had been cancelled.

We like deceiving ourselves in this country.
I remember the frenzied calls last time to make direct primaries mandatory.
The reality is that no major political party in Nigeria can conduct a credible direct primary election.
There is no single direct primary election amongst the thousands we have held in this country that one can point out as credible.
This is the sham that some ignorant folks wanted to make compulsory in our electoral act.
Even the new one that will be conducted in Edo State will still be a charade.

These are the only political parties with the capacity to win a national election in Nigeria.

Voting another party other than these two is indirectly voting either of the two, and it's certainly not the opposition party.
