Johnjustice:
Road blocks and stop and search, are the most effective way to curb kidnapping.

For it is far better to be delayed in road block and stop and search, than to be kidnapped.

Nigerians need to know how to choose the better discomfort.
So kidnappers wey dey inside bush go wait make police stop am for road block...na inside bush dem suppose go patrol no be to dey do roadblock dey disturb people

Security is synonymous with a bit of inconvenience.

There is no substitute for safety. Extortion is bad and must be addressed and stopped, but I will take that over getting kidnapped.
Get our security forces out there. This is an emergency situation and not a time for someone sitting comfortably on his sofa blowing grammar on ideals. There are cellphones and other recording devices, we have seen bad eggs involved in extortion getting exposed. That is how it should be and not the stupidity of sacrificing your security because of delays and extortion. Kidnapping is the highest form of extortion and often leads to murder. That is higher priority.

So victims of kidnapping drive themselves inside the bush for kidnappers to kidnap them?

This step is to ensure that you don't involuntarily find yourself led inside the bush by kidnappers. What is the problem with that?

That army job to patrol federal highway
Not police job..incase of nigeria
Lagos ibadan expressway is the army that should patrol it
Apapa oshodi highway is federal road. Army job to patrol it

Federal road is the army duty to patrol federal road.
Preventing and fighting of crime is a country is the primary duty of the Police, its even the duty of the Police to fight Gboko haram. You only deploy solders for cross border combat.

Try dey use brain, these days they kidnap people in cities, like Evans and co use to do, kidnap in mainland, drive the victims to those bushes around Ajah, if they were road blocks and check points, dem go either dey scared or get caught...most kidnappers try to avoid encounters with security operatives...the more operatives on the road, the more deterrence, it's common sense.

Na only thief and illegal people dey fear to see police on the road.

Na you no use your brain... I'm talking of the kidnap incidences on the highways whereby kidnappers emerge from inside bushes.....if na for inside city dem kidnap then what is the job of the regular policeman or you mean to tell me that the joint task for is for kidnap cases inside ikeja or Alimosho

DeLaRue:
This government is actually trying.

Almost for the first time since Nigeria 's independence, a Nigerian government is finally being forced to think and do things differently because no more excess money.

Since shortly after Nigeria discovered oil, too much money coming into government coffers has made successive governments too lazy to think.

Now that the country is facing extreme challenges and there's no excess money anymore, government officials are finally using their heads.

Though a majority of state governments still dont care to think of basic solutions that can help the people.

Some of these solutions and reforms being adopted now appear too simple, but if we maintain and improve them, things will slowly start getting better.

There is no single magic solution anywhere.
Shattap abeg.
