President Tinubu, Invite Prof. Barth Nnaji To Be The Federal Minister Of Power. by zoedew: 10:02am On Feb 29
For years now, Prof Barth Nnaji has shown capacity to help Nigeria overcome her electricity infrastructure challenges and recently proved this with the recent commissioning of the Geometric Ltd IPP that is set to provide 24/7 power to Ava in SE Nigeria. President Tinubu is urged to walk the talk by inviting Prof Barth Nnaji to be the Federal Minister of Power. Just so he demurs at doing so Governor Sanwo-Olu will do well to invite the Prof to help Lagos out in the matter. FDI will fall head over heels to have just a pie of the Lagos electric power business with a focused driver of Nnaji's pedigree in the driver's seat.

No, he voluntarily resigned his appointment during privatization of power holdings due to possible conflict of interest because I is a player in the sector.

Yes o, for building a 188mw power plant, he should even be made the VP. That's how much Nigerians celebrate mediocrity and then turn around to blame politicians for rating us low.

Nobody will make him such an offer now and he would be foolish to accept it now. That was how the GEJ admin messed him up on the ground that he had a conflict of interest after they assured him that it was ok. They now turned round to say "You can't be a player and a referee". Then they gave Emeka Offor a license that covers Aba - the same area that Geometric had a license for.

What he needs to do - what he wants to do is to make Geometric a benchmark Genco and Distributor. Every other thing is tales by moonlight.

He was actually asked to resign because he was linked to have interests in AFam Generation and Enugu distribution company during the privatisation process under GEJ’s presidency.

Of course his interests was for himself and those people who booted him out also had their own interests which also personal.

People hail him because it’s what the country needs today, but his interests are no different from Dangotes.

Should Dangote be made the petroleum minister according to his achieving a refinery which is way bigger time 3 million compare what Bart Nnaji.

Note that Dangote refinery will also be generating electricity to power it surrounding communities

Bros, I beg to differ.

Electricity supply in Nigeria has never ever been good.

Nigeria have never ever generated more than 5 megawatts.

so there was no such time that Nnaji was a minister and power supply was better in Nigeria.

Nigerians don't believe in principles. Even if they let him be, how will it sound in 20 years later to say Barth got rich because he used his Minister position to enrich himself. People don't think. Osinbajo was a lawyer, he resigned because of conflict. Interior Minister has a business that is accused of getting FG contracts. People need to be taught ethics in Nigeria. You can have the best intentions but what is right is another. Do what seems right, looks right and appears right. Nnaji shot himself in the foot. Interior Minister thought if his company worked for an unrelated Ministry, it will not have a direct self interest. He forgot that as a Minister in the cabinet, he has influence over fellow colleagues who are Ministers.

It is more of a reward for Adelabu's loyalty and support in Oyo State over the years. Don't you know Adelabu did not run under APC in the last election but he is an ardent Tinubu fan. People expected him to be in finance because of his prior experience as CBN deputy gov.

It is to help Adelabu for 2027 actually.

In case u (since that's how u refer to others) u don't know, power supply between May and December (which is the Nigerian rainy season) has always been stellar even after he left.

What do you want to hear, that Bath Nnaji is greater the Peter Obi 100 times.

At least we can point to one thing Barth Nnaji did as a private citizen, there's no single record of Obi's achievement in Anambra. No single achievement distinguishes him from Ikpeazu the kerosene merchant. No legacy project from Obi to qualify him to lead Nigeria, yet Obidients wanted to blindfold Nigerians to vote for an underachiever in person Obi

We should learn to appreciate good efforts in Nigeria. I'm sure you really don't know much about the cost invoiin building an IPP. To even build one that'll generate 100mw will cost you dearly, not to talk of 188. Kudos to the guy. I'm sure if given the resources and federal protection from the marauding hawks in the industry, this man will do well to serve our collective interests.
