It's almost becoming a norm in Owerri where Landlords upgrade their buildings or face rejection. But what surprises most, is the way imolites are building their personal houses everyday, especially at the outskirts of the city center.
I did an interview the last time on project sites, I was quite surprised most were civil servants whose children were still in school. Some were retirees who had started their projects when they were in active service.
Imolites who stay abroad also build houses in Owerri, even when they do have magnificent structures in their villages; maybe hotel bills are becoming more expensive and could play a major role, or some do such for luxury and relaxation from frequent visitation of villagers/kinsmen.

People are becoming more of landlords than tenants in Owerri

Owerri is a small London that lagos and Abuja can't compete with. Lagos is just big and large for nothing, quality of life Zero!

Owerri is small and healthy. 95% of owerri city is a modern model city well planned and developed.
Ngwori is second to none.

Na only world bank road, control and Douglas una get small activity.THERE IS NO COSMOPLITAN LIFE IN OWERRI,IT IS JUST AN OLD-FASHION CIVIL SERVICE COMMUNITY DOCILE LIFESTYLE,,WHERE YOU EAT UGBA AND OFE OWERRI WITH FRIED FISH with heavy booze AT PUBS.
