Dangote can easily get crude oil from Ghana, sierra Leon, Angola or Libya if Nigeria can not meet up with the refinery crude need. These countries are closer and will save cost.

But for for dangote to go all the way to US, is a sign of desperation to an advantage that many critics do not care to ask about due to politics and tribalism.

Trade balance is what US does not joke with. Dangote wants to export refined oil to US which means he must buy US crude because US will not allow any country to take it as a dumping ground.

US/China trade conflict

The products that China exports to US is more than what US exports to china, to balance the trade is why US do impose high tariffs on Chinese products.

US approval, an opener to many countries

If a product is imported to US and US certified it as standard, many countries will accept the products without any hindrance. So it makes sense that dangote import crude from the US to get global acceptance of his own product.

19 Billion dollars loan is not joke, dangote must pay back the loan so he needs market strategy to meet up his loan obligation
Re: Crude Import: Why Dangote Desperately Needs US Market by successmatters(m): 7:36pm On Mar 03
So in the end, he established a refinery in Nigeria to buy US crude and refine in Nigeria, then send the oil back to the US because of balance of trade? OK.

But the last government, this present set of thieves and all the criminals in APC including this paid propagandist OP made the whole Nigeria to believe that as soon as Dangote completes his refinery, Nigeria will stop importing refined crude, they kept deceiving people that fuel prices which they hiked from 87 naira under GEJ to almost 700 under the druggie will crash after Dangote completes his magic refinery?

Bunch of shameless crooks.

Business wise this makes a lot of sense but what grade of crude is he importing?

Some crude from the states contain toxic environmentally unfriendly by products that are expensive to dispose, after refining.

When will his products (especially pms, diesel & aviation fuel) flood the Nigerian market?
And at what cost?

Nothing else matters.

I wasn't trained to accept loans in my business training, I grew from the trade apprenticeship line.

US stole a lot of crude oil from the middle east and still stealing from Syria. They store the stolen crude and sell it

But is it not a shame we can't feed the Dangote refinery with crude oil and we expect Qataris to take us seriously. Just a pity

Do you now understand why a trader like Peter Obi would have saved Nigerian youths from these set if crooks who doesn't know anything about managing anything and still insisting on leading you into the Bush?

Peter Obi never took much loams, he still made the best of his state and left the state in surplus. Keep electing crooks and crying all over the threads.

The Arabs that export oil and gas to US including Qatar do not take all their monies. They reinvest parts of it in US economy.

Nothing like disaster. Compare how Peter Obi ruled Anambra to how Tinubu rule Lagos. The difference is clear

If Peter Obi had half of the revenue the druggie stole and mismanaged in Lagos, anambra would have been like Dubai. A thief cometh only to steal and destroy. Sorry Lagos.

Tinubu met less than 1 billion monthly igr and increased it to 6 billion before he left office, now it is going to about 50 billion

Because Lagos was a federal capital and all our multinationals are there.

Okay, let tunubu use his magic to bring down fuel prices or fx and let's see.

You have started commenting nonsense on what you know nothing about... America can never buy one litre of refined oil from Dangote when it has 130 fully functional refineries
