Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has been berated by All Progressives Congress (APC), for refurbishing Government House with alleged N1billion.

Governor Adeleke had last Saturday opened the newly-rehabilitated Government House in Osogbo with top officials and dignitaries joining him for inspection of the facilities.

A statement by Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, said “the rehabilitation covers the main house, the completion of an abandoned multi-bedroom guest house, remodelling of many of the structures, refixing of many derelict facilities and facelift of the entire Government House.”

Reacting, APC through its state Chairman, Kola Olabisi, yesterday described the inauguration as a misplaced priority.

He said: “It is a shame that Governor Adeleke could be involved in flaunting the Government House rehabilitated with N1billion in this austere period and when Osun State has been declared the corporate headquarters of poverty in Yorubaland.”

But why do we Nigerias politicians so much like flaunty and material things so much....?
Of what use is this excess renovation for?
Golden laces chairs, Moroccan rugs and carpets, Italian tiles etc for what nah?
After all the excess money ready at his disposal, Akeredolu of Ondo state still died....
So does it mean we governors can't reside in simple chair and tiles house? Must it up up to standard?
Knowing full well that it's not a permanent house...
Besides it's not necessary they live in government house...
That money would have gone a long way to improve the wellbeing of some individual in the state....
Talk of selfishness...

I doubt.

No reasonable news coming from the state. Just completion of previous road project and borehole is all I've heard.

Roughly 50% voted him so feelings will be mixed

I stay in Osun and currently road works are underway, generally he seems to be working, the govt house in question was looted dry by the previous administration infact we all saw how chairs and other items were carted away in broad daylight, the amount for renovation may be much but I think it's worth it, for those that stay in Osun the previous govt house was an eye sore.
