Brazil National team is not like the Brazil we all grow up to know..
When you see a player like Rodrygo wearing the Brazilian number 10 jersey , that define perfectly what their national team is today .

Kimmich shoukd just be ready for second half when Mbape will have enough space cheesy

Mbappe hasn’t had a real crack at goal still. It’s not as if Kimmich was exceptional, Germany just stopped being the mediocre team we’ve known them to be of recent, and France has been uninspiring and lacking drive.

It’s a friendly sha.

How many goals does your Foden have for England who by the way just dropped another poor performance for the 3 lions.

Calm down. Brazil was literally playing a mixture of most of their 2nd and 3rd team plus giving new players their first caps.

It's not about today's game or May be I'm used to a different and more skilful Brazil teams. They're more physical than skillful and talent nowadays .

Omo this euros might be more competitive than the last sha, I know it's a friendly but this German side looked like the old swashbuckling Germany of old, perfect mix of experience and youth especially with the legend kroos's return

Over the last few years they've been playing more technical and physical like the Europeans, the flair is still there but it's being toned down by their coaching staffs, they better not carry this kind suegbe style to Copa America

Honestly, they look like a shade of their older self. Corporate shoe marshaling the defense, Kroos controlling the midfield, Musiala tearing things up, and lazy Havertz converting a percentage of the chances that fall his way. They look … threatening.

But we have to admit that they faced a rudderless France with a misfiring attack line and an inexperienced midfield today.

It doesn’t take anything away from Germany’s win, but at the same time, it doesn’t tremendously elevate their embarrassing status nor turn them into automatic contenders.

Like you said, it makes the Euros more competitive, and I dare say, potentially more interesting. Considering the possible qualification of teams like Wales, it could be a tournament well worthy of looking forward to. England remains one of the favorites to lift that trophy.

I think Foden was poor today. He just didn’t do enough and never looked threatening. It’s a friendly match, yes, but that shouldn’t blunt your attacking sense. Immediately Bowen replaced him on that right wing, he instantly became a threat.

Maybe Southgate got his position all wrong.

Yeah it doesn't take anything away from France, they were also Jekyll and Hyde in the warmup games leading to the euros and then we saw how they almost won the world cup few months later, I think they've not really gotten someone to fill the Pogba void in that midfield, too bad he's banned, Germany look stronger with the hiring of nagelsmann, return of Kroos and exciting young attacking talents they have but I think they're still frail in defence plus I'm not sure how neuer would perform at this age considering he'll be back to be the first choice
As for england I've already said my own as long as that alakose called southmumu is still there I don't believe they'll win despite their abundance of talents

You also don’t like Southgate eh? grin

I’m not a fan either but you’ve got to give him credit for looking past individual talents and taking a big-picture approach to managing England instead. I admit he tends to overdo it a lot (favoring team cohesiveness, balance, relationships, etc) but without that, they wouldn’t have gone far in the last two championships.

Chief you are not wrong, in terms of man management and picking players he's numero uno but you see tactics, in game management and desire southmumu is shit there, he's always had talent to bail him out until he faces the toughest of teams where your thinking has to bail you out, I've been dissing him since the 2018 WC when he bottled against Croatia but you see this last euros where he had a golden opportunity to deliver something since 1966, that one go hard

In football, coaching is everything. Well, may be not literally everything but it's a very important aspect of the game. Germany under Flick will lose this game but with 80% possession.

Meanwhile, that's their starting midfield unless you include Greezman. In fact, only Greezman, Konate and Maignan were the notable absentees from their supposed gala 11.

Germany were without some of their top players too. Neur, Goretzka and Sane(not in form but still a top player)

Friendly or not, Germany were just better today which makes the euros even more spicy.

Coach is key.....

This is modern football in general.
You have to show intensity either by being ultra physical(Athletico Madrid) or by running nonstop and pressing like Liverpool.

Nobody cares about flair, skills etc. That's why players like Felix, Cunha are having issues. If you must show flair then you must show consistentcy by scoring and creating goals.

Like it or not, stats is everything now.

LooL.

You are well within your rights to judge him that way. Cos I can’t see why England had to play that horribly against Italy just because Luke Shaw scored an early goal.

Southgate is not an elite manager.

Nagelsmann really improved Germany, I agree. But I also think Griezmann’s absence was felt, and they’ve lost a couple of influential players to either retirement or a football ban . Today they only had Mbappe as the one capable of making something happen. Dembele is a proper dunce and Randal K. Muani is not up to scratch. Having a Pogba would’ve helped them exploit Germany’s defense better.

We call him pea size brain but I'm afraid he may hurt Barca. As such, I won't comment further on the pea-size guy grin grin

Meanwhile, Yeah, Pogba, Meni and Greezman would've helped alot but it's still a friendly and Deschamps has played back to back world cup finals. They're still the favourites because of Mbape sha. Mbape is the reason!!!

Foden and Bellingham might be the new Gerrard and Lampard. Playing one of them out of position in order to shoehorn them into the starting lineup might be England's undoing. That, and having a tactically inept manager of course.

andrewbaba44:

Let’s get one thing clear first. Southgate is a wack manager. Any good performance by an England player is not because Southgate knows how to use the player.

Secondly, Bellingham and Foden are both at their best in advanced central areas. Foden excelling on the right wing for Pep is because of a well-oiled machine that Pep created at City, which is not the case for England. Bellingham at the 10 and Foden on the wing will likely fail because of lack of fluidity (Bellingham) and lack of penetration (Foden).

The only solution that MIGHT have them in the same side with a successful outcome is if Bellingham sacrifices and drops into the 8 position and Foden plays the 10 position. The obvious question with Bellingham at the 8 and Foden at 10 is the possible lack of defensive solidity if Bellingham can’t maintain positional discipline. Another question is, how good is he really as a CM if he is not scoring goals.

Otherwise, one of them has to start at the 10 position while the other holds the bench, so that true 1v1 wingers like Saka, Bowen, Gordon, Rashford can play to offer a threat behind the opposition.

Getting both in the same team requires a fair bit of shoehorning, and might lead to a tactical imbalance, which is why I compared it to the Gerrard/Lampard situation.
