Tribal domination is what you are making up in your head. Or perhaps, it could be how the Biafrian ibo soldiers dominated the Midwest Edo and Delta in less than 12 hours. The one month the Edo spent under occupation was brutal murders and rapes.

The whole of Benin is/was part of Yoruba territory.. It was people like Azikiwe that poisoned the land and people of present Edo State against Yorubas because he (Azikiwe) wanted Mid-West carved out of Western region to wittle down the political strength of Western region under Yoruba leadership and for Igbos to later capture and rule over the Mid-West region. It was the script they played during the civil war when the invading biafran troops seized Mid-West and appointed one of their own to be the head in Mid-West until gallant Yoruba soldiers sacked all of them and chased them back to their Eastern region.

It's still the same thing they did with "Edo no be Lagos" and are still doing with Olumide Akpata and the other guy with mixed Yoruba and Edo roots.

In Ilorin, yes. They have intermarried. A good example is the Saraki family. If you were bright at all, you would know.

I don't really understand kids here in nairaland?
So people don't know most states in the southern parts of Nigeria have so many tribes indigenous to those areas?
Edo is a state and not a tribe. I just wonder how people reason self.

I served in Edo state, and if there's anything I think I learnt there was that the Edo people actually profess their affiliations to the Yoruba race even when you try not to accept, they tell you how oduduwa is their forefathers, so where is the issue coming from?
