Kaduna,

I'm sure El Rufai did not return to office to borrow money..

grin grin
It's because El rufai emptied the treasury and place the current administration under heavy debt with allocation going to servicing. We can't continue to run democracy like this where elected officials steal monies and replace cronies who can't hold them accountable. The Constitution needs a review to strengthen institutions where people can investigate their leaders and prosecute looters

Lol, Bassey Otu from Cross River, I hope his multibillion renovated office can help him repay the debts grin
The man is a clown. See why we should have voted Sandy Onor so he could have probed Ayade for looted funds the way it's happening in Kano

We are top three in local Debt profile over the last 8 years. Check DMO website and see for yourself

These people are criminals! After renovating the office, I believe he'll be mining gold in the office to boost the revenue generation of the state
The stupid renovation is just to give contract to his cronies. Ayade renovated twice when he was there for a barren 8 years

They borrow because

1. Oil revenues are low, due to a combination of low oil prices for NIgeria and massive previous debt

2. Poor tax to gdp ratio.

You feeling a bit left out and ignored? Allow Armageddon enjoy his Easter Sunday in peace! It’s his prerogative to recognise and praise whoever he wants to! By the time you extend the period in question to say two years, you’ll see your man appear on the list, yet there’s no commensurate things on ground in Imo to reflect the level of money borrowed or the states’ vast oil and gas resources!

Leave poor Armageddon alone!

Very unfortunate for plateau state.
The two former governors(Jonah Jang and Simon Lalong) that left really dealt with the state, most especially Simon Lalong.
Just borrow money to loot same.
Left unpaid salaries, over inflated uncompleted projects, vandalised and left with operational vehicles and assets of state......... No,no,no..... Solomon Lar,Joseph Gomwalk....... Wept for plateau state.

It seems the current governor is trying to outdo along and hang in the area of incompetence
He allowed bandits and Fulani herdsmen to roamed and killed at will, without any for of stringent efforts by the state government and national forces. It was pathetically unacceptable for someone to fall from such a graceful and noble duty of care and services.

Please itemised LGA by LGA what Uzodinma has done in Imo state to deserve leadership award above these two. Uzodinma is not in the class of Otti and Soludu in any ramifications. No hard feelings just my candid opinion.

Actually, I'm right.

We are a resource dependent nation..as a result when the price of what we sell goes down, we get into serious issues hence the borrowing.

Also when what we produce falls in production level, we lose income. See Ghana. Because of a disease that has wiped out most of its cocoa crop, it has to pray to mother world bank for a loan.

This does not mean I believe we have a good government. If this government was serious they would have taken us off oil dependency. And began the process of making us an exporter of Industrial goods and services

The problem with Nigeria can be fixed by industrialization, exporting industrial goods and taxing more of our gdp which would help our economy grow, fix unemployment, enable us to earn far more in terms of cash, promote self reliance and reduce corruption ( higher tax level means people have an incentive to hold government responsible at a higher rate)

It's called dutch disease. And I have shown how it can be sorted

Note, it does not mean that I do not believe there is no corruption or that apc is running a good economy. Infact I have just shown you why and how apc is running a bad economy .

But of course, you can disagree with me

Every beautiful economic blueprint you have highlighted will fail because of unbridled corruption and weak institutions we have. We have a very corrupt political class and business elite. My brother, take away corruption and even a layman's economic blueprint centred on Agriculture, security, basic education and due process will thrive because we have the market and hardworking population

But of course, you can disagree with me

Well we would always have some corruption, but in my opinion, improved tax to gdp ratios would incentivise people to pay more attention to what their government is doing with their money.

A big problem with fighting corruption is that it is hard work . Hard hard work

Hangulsaram I hope this thread gives you a bit more wisdom so you don’t ask that foolish question you asked me again. The data each state is owing is readily accessible to even the dumbest idiot on NL.
You foolishness I think is the reason why you don’t reason objectively. No one is talking about your data.
