When I see chelsea fans arguing about attack and defence I just remember Arsenal when Arteta newly joined . He took his time to ease out terrible defenders like Mustafi , Luiz , Papasthapopulous , Kolasinac . He let go fraud parading themselves as midfielders like Willock and Guendouzi. He then started adding attackers to complement the base already on ground.

Chelsea already have good midfielders in Palmer, Caicedo and Lavia who is majorly injured like u pointed out. They just need quality defenders and one or two attackers to complement the ones they have and they will be back in the top 4. But this their current coach sef na gbef

Halaand and Mbape are both world class players but one is not like the other. My comment on Halaand isn't based on today's game but what I've observed especially this season.

For today, all credit goes to the Arsenal defence.

Halaand's game depends so much on good supply that's why in the toughest games so far so good he hasn't really been spectacular. Mbape needs service too but he can go solo and disrupt play.

The issue with Chelsea is that almost all our departments have their own problems, to simply put it, our squad is badly assembled.
Let's start with the attack, how many of our attackers can hold on to the ball without turning it over to the opponent within seconds ? We can't recycle the ball or hold on to it for a minute without our attackers trying something stupid and gifting the opponent an opportunity to counter. Look at other big teams in the league and the profile of their attackers and look at chelsea's , who is the 1 V 1 dribbler like saka, doku , grealish , kulusevski or diaz that can pin back a defender or that will make a winger reduce their attacking intensity when playing us to help out his defender? Who can the defenders launch the ball to like Kai, halaand or Nunez to relieve them of pressure without
turning the ball over immediately? When most of us here keep saying attack should be prioritize, it doesn't mean we want our defence to be neglected, it just means the number of changes we need in our defence is small compared to our attack.

It wasn't really a big mistake. Palmer wasn't guaranteed playing time, Chelsea's offer was too good to turn down for an unproven academy player. Fact is, nobody knew how Palmer will turn out. You can go and check when Palmer was signed. Some Chelsea fans were against the deal because...."unproven yet expensive"

On Doku, the jury is still out on him. Very few players do well with Pep in their first season. Even Rodrigo struggled.

Liverpool is always ghen ghen and swift counter so any game against Man city or arsenal will always be interesting.

Meanwhile Man City and Arsenal are known for control and territorial domination. Same style of play. Any of the team who gains possession, the other will retreat and this makes for a boring game. First leg, the reverse was the case as arsenal was mostly dominating while Man City retreated.

Anybody expecting end to end with Man city/Ars haven't observed enough.

This excuse doesn't make any sense. All your games last season was exciting when Arteta played his normal game. Even the reverse fixture was 10 times better than the borefest we watched today because Arsenal took the game to City. It's obvious Arteta didn't trust his team to go head to head with city so decided to focus on just being defensive and stopping City.

And what was the scoreline in both cases?

At the end of the day, we were the one ridiculed after the "interesting" game. We were called all sort of names.

If you think we won't learn from experience instead of going gung ho everytime we meet man city, then it means we're not learning enough.

We have 18 teams to play the interesting game with, so let's leave Man City out of it. Afterall I remember most pundits saying if we'd just been compact last season and not lost twice, maybe we'd have been champions.
