Great idea. Options is key.

Why is it that amongst all the available thriving sectors it's airline that is been suggested for a group of South west governors to invest in? Why don't they invest in crude oil refinery like Dangote? A refinery would employ more people than running an airline.

The sentiment behind this proposition is simply the hate some yorubas have each time they see an igbo owned business thriving. They are quick to create competition or come up with policies to kill igbo owned business. Ibom air has been operating for years, the sector wasn't attractive until an igbo man steps in to take it international then all of a sudden it has become attractive.

While I am not against healthy competition we shouldn't allow ethnic sentiment and 'bad belle' be our motivation for any investment decision.

Lagos seems to have one in the pipeline in relation with her proposed LEKKI AIRPORT CONSTRUCTION. Although that doesn't take anything away from this good observation from the organisation. The more the merrier.

A railway network would be ideal; how many Nigerians would fly? A railway that will link the Yoruba and Yoruba-aligned states with ports in Ogun and Ondo will be of benefit to the SW and Nigeria.
A high-speed rail network to speed up travel time.

True. Air Peace is a great development and that's why someone like Tinubu will never ever get in the way of such. He has no history of such backwardness. Even Buhari must have his reasons, afterall he paid the retirement benefits of Biafran soldiers which even the likes of OBJ and GEJ failed to accomplish and also cleared the benefit of Nigeria Airways retirees regardless of ethnicity. To cap it all, he not only completed 2nd Niger Bridge he mandated top quality delivery. There are always more to these watery stories easily believed by our IPOB/IPOB-minded ones among our citizens across the Niger.

Odua Airlines is a great idea to add to Air Peace, Ibom Air and others. The foreign monopolies have not been able to meet our needs.

yommen:

Tinubu's government was never the problem of Airpeace. Buhari's was. Why are you this dumb? Approvals Allen Oyema couldn't get under Buhari, he got under Tinubu. So how is Yoruba now the problem? We are not enemies of progress. A Yoruba(Ijebu precisely) man Adebayo Ogunlesi owns 3 Airports in the UK. That's a greater achievements than Airpeace. So, there is no reason to beef you.

Air Peace needs competition, but it should not come from the government; it must be privately owned.

Value Jet is owned by Ayo Ojuroye (CEO)[1] Kunle Soname (Chairman), and Green Africa Airways and Babawande Afolabi are both Yoruba-owned airlines that can be expanded to give Air Peace competition.

They should rather buy shares in Peace Airlines....... Peace Airlines can become Nigeria National carrier.
Selling 40% shares to Federal, State and private individuals. 40% only oh please.

At least they have one. Where is yours?

Don’t mind those insincere and duplicitous clowns. They shouted Biafra for over six decades yet no one took them seriously.

Now, the same people and the North are in serious panic since all SW governors acting alone , in 2021 under Buhari, defied the FG to openly rebel and demand a return to regional autonomy along with resources control and full restructuring.

At lease we know how the North will react because they don’t pretend that ‘one Nigeria’ is not their sustenance system they are loathe to abandon.

It is the pretenders from the SE that shocked the world the most. Suddenly, they opposed what Yorubas were agitating for and became passionate ‘one Nigeria’ advocate to the extent their hypocritical lunacy extended to Naaraland.

lo and behold, we began seeing thread from Igbos about “We all die here. We are not leaving Lagos” and ”Yorubas are planning to secede and run away with Lagos” (from the disgraced PrinceOfLagos).

Well, the sum total of affairs is that Yorubas mean what they say and say what they mean whereas Igbo man never mean what he says and never says what he means.

Shout Biafra for over six decades and no one takes you seriously because they know, at the very least, your vagrant lifestyle shows you are insincere.

Yoruba leaders unitedly demanded regional autonomy in 2021 and those opposed to it (Hausa/Fulaninand Igbos) are in panic because they know Yorubas never bluff.

I am enjoying Nigeria under Tinubu. By the time he leaves, the SW and all other regions who want independent growth and development will have shaped progressive lives they can control and enjoy without the impediment of ‘’one Nigeria’ that only those who gain sustenance from politics money ( the North) and trading/living in the land of others (the SE) enjoy.

No govt in Nigeria should have any business going into business if they don’t have plans to immediately concession the business to serious reputable private company once it’s up and running cos that business will never be profitable, it will just be leaking money from embezzlement here and there and they will keep on pumping more money into it till it becomes impossible to sustain.
Planes will not be properly maintained or repaired cos someone will want to chop money from every given opportunity. If they map out 10mil to change some parts that cost maybe 3mil for the original, they will still go ahead to buy a substandard part for less than 2mil and nobody will talk cos everybody is doing something shady in his/her corner and before you know it, you have an airline that is losing money with fewer functional planes than when it started

This is even a no-brainer. Tinubu is not an unknown quantity and he is in no way, shape or form someone that would stand in the way of a progressive development like this. Some people are filled with so much evil from birth that they will easily see evil even in Jesus Christ if he is physically with them today grin grin

If not that you have no functional television or radio in your house, then you would have seen Onyema praising Tinubu Jagaban everyday for making him get the London route, that is why Onyema had been telling Igbos that only Tinubu can save them since Jesus rejected them.

His Yoruba hatred is counterproductive; if the Yoruba refuse to patronise Air Peace Lagos to London route, wouldn't that be a problem for Air Peace? Some of these Igbo tribalists need to understand the implications of their online hatred.

Yorubas will never descend that low though. Let the evil ones keep enjoying their hatred, there is more than enough goodies coming to keep them busy with hatred while the good and open-minded ones with no agenda among them continue to thrive brilliantly and enjoy goodwill across the South West and beyond.
