“Extend Amnesty Granted To Igboho To Nnamdi Kanu”: Group tells Tinubu by Man102: 8:40am On Apr 04
A call has gone to the Federal Government to, as a matter of necessity; approve the unconditional release of all pro-Biafra activists and other Nigerians incarcerated for self-determination agitations in fulfillment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s promised commitment to a free society.

The group under the aegis of Concerned Igbo Citizens Council made the call in a statement signed by its interim National Coordinator, and interim National Secretary, Comrade Ukachukwu Obioha and Mazi James Okorie respectively, and made available to newsmen in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

Positing that the unconditional release of Sunday Igboho, a pro-Odua Republic agitator and Omoyele Sowore is commendable, CICC insisted that the same gesture must be extended to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and all other Nigerians currently detained for similar activities.

CICC maintained that the continued detention of Kanu and hundreds of Igbo youths over Indigenous People of Biafra activities while their Yoruba counterparts have been granted reprieve by the present administration gives “an unsavory ethnic and sectional coloration” to Federal Government’s action.

Additionally, the group urged the Department of State Services, the Police and the National Human Rights Commission, to as a matter of urgency, commence investigation and compilation of list of those killed, maimed and unlawfully incarcerated for self-determination agitations across board.

It said, “It has become most expedient and imperative to call on President Tinubu to extend the amnesty he granted to two of his kinsmen, Sunday Igboho and Omoyele Sowore to other Yoruba youths held for supporting the agitations of the duo.”

“It would amount to criminal injustice to continue to detain the supporters and fans of Igboho and Sowore since the principal actors have been absolved of any wrongdoing per se.

“We demand also for the unconditional release without any further delay, of Mazi Kanu and all Igbo and Eastern Nigerian youths currently detained for belonging to or supporting IPOB.

“We urge the DSS, Police and NHRC as well as other relevant government and non-governmental bodies to compile and publish comprehensive list of those killed, maimed and unlawfully incarcerated or displaced for identifying with self-determination agitations across the country.”

Insisting that it is out to mobilize Nigerians across ethnic lines to stand up and assert their rights to a free society, CICC called on Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Igbo governors and all others calling for the release of Kanu, not to forget his countless lieutenants being persecuted, in the quest for his release.

Nnamdi Kanu is a terrorist leader whose boys killed many police officers and soldiers in his fight for Biafra. That's treason and murder wrapped in one. Unlike Igboho who was an activist against herdsmen. Both are not the same.

Tinubu is a Yoruba man, so Sunday Igboho is Tinubu's brother. Therefore, Nnamdi Kanu should wait till when an Igbo becomes President in year 5050.

Professor Yemi Judas Osinbajo gave Nnamdi Kanu amnesty when Buhari was away for medicals. What did Kanu do when he got out of the country? The idiot started abusing Yorubas, Hausas, Fulanis, Kanuris, Ikwerres, Ijaws,Kalabaris, Ibiobios, and in fact all non Igbos. That was why Buhari decided to show him whom the boss is. Tinubu will not make that same mistake

Anyone calling for unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu is not being reasonable.
Release him unconditionally is a licence to continue from where he stopped.

Ighoho don't have a group with murder and terrorism charges...we should be careful how we advocate for use of violence and terrorism to achieve result, if the government encourage letting people with murder and terrorism charges off the hook, more youths will think violence is the sure way. A dangerous precedence.

They are both separatist leaders but their modus operandi is different.

Nnamdi Kanu publicly calls for destruction of the country, murdering of security personnels and destruction of infrastructure to achieve Biafra.

Igboho is mainly about extermination of all armed killer herdsmen. His Oduduwa movement is even watery to be sincere.

You can't compare the two. Lets not be sentimental about this.

Rubbish.
Which amnesty?

Instead of begging the govt to release a known terrorist, you should be demanding that he should be tried as soon as possible. He's entitled to a fair, just and quick trial. He should be tried as soon as possible and sentenced to death by firing squad.
Justice delayed is Justice denied.

Kanu is still incarcerated because he chose not to agree to the terms and given him by the government. He chose to believe in his struggle.
Now, you may not like him for whatever reason, but it takes a real man to stand firmly for what he believes in.

No. Nnamdi Kanu is unrepentant. He had a choice to turn a new leaf after that incident in his hometown in which he fled Nigeria. However, he decided to surface in Israel, acting like a clown and since then was going around the world encouraging mayhem in Nigeria.

Who is giving all this Igbo group the audacity to talk shamelessly?

What are you going to do to Tinubu if he didn't fulfill your request it is not like you are ever going to vote for him.

Igboho did not tell Yorubas in North and East to burn down their cities. Nnamdi Kanu specifically ordered Ibos to carry out arson, vandalism, terrorism and assassination in SW and Abuja.

He also commanded Ibos in China to lay siege on visiting President of Nigeria, kidnap him and deal with him. The Ibos residing in China acted on his order and laid seige but did not succeed in kidnap. This is treasonable act to seek humiliation and destruction of a Nigerian Head of State.

Igboho has done none of these callous hateful things.

Kanu must die....executed by hanging.
