Chai Bro people spend 20m to 30m.
Some times is not someone’s fault, it is the perception one has. Before I traveled , my guys that were here told me they were making over 5000 euros a month after bills, so I was so desperate. I finally got here to find out that they don’t even have apartment of their own and not to talk of 5000 euro a month. The only reason why I didn’t regret it was that i didn’t contribute one naira to my travelling expenses. Imagine me spending 20 to 30m to experience what I saw when I came here, I wouldn’t I have forgiven them.
If not for social media, no body in Nigeria would have known that abroad is just packaging.
That is y I tell those who want to come the truth, so that they will prepare themselves financially and mentally before travelling.
Imagine guys in their late 40s still not married, no child, in dis abroad. A man who is supposed to be a family man will still be sharing apartments because of bills.

why do you guys like to focus on the negatives Are there no Nigerian doctors, nurses, tech bros, auditors hired directly from Nigeria in UK. They didn’t spend 20-30m. Are they no Nigerian in big companies in Canada, USA, UAE, Germany, Belgium, Saudi etc.
Anyone who spent 20-30m for uk care work or study visa took a gamble that may or may not work. Their choice

They demand certain results from countries in the west. But when their government in naija violates them for no reason, they accept it. They're just losers ! Imagine having to migrate to have a decent life since 1960. They won't haven't certain demands about their country. It's when they enter the west they'll open their mouths

using 10m- 20m to japa via cos or study visa is a recent development after covid very few people attempted this in the past and they were mostly young people sponsored by family ( unlike this uk rush) . In the past it was using visit visa, going through libya , going to UAE etc, those people no spend 10m to 20m o😅

In the US, Nigerians are not in the top five and earn marginally higher than native African Americans. In the UK, Nigerians are not higher earners and blacks there earn very low compared to other ethnic minorities. Elsewhere is going to be worse as the black population is below 2%, and they are not as capitalistic as the UK and US.

We should look at the numbers as those people constitute a minute proportion of this new-age japa folks. Nigerians had a 1:1 migrant: dependant ratio in the UK. Certainly, the majority cannot be doctors, auditors or tech broses. The study route is the major means out of Nigeria, so work visa-dependent folks would always be in the minority. In summary, the majority of these new-age Nigerian migrants to the UK spent more than 10M to process their emigration.

Obviously, they lied. Any Nigerian who makes 5K euros after taxes and bills in Continental Europe is highly skilled, most likely a naturalised citizen, speaks the native language, graduated from an elite university etc. Sorry, but the majority of Nigerians in Continental Europe are not in that group. Even for second generation Nigerians in Continental Europe (Nigerian parents, not biracial), I sincerely doubt.

In the US and UK, it is possible, most especially in the US as it is unarguably the best place to be a skilled black professional.

P.S. Which countries are these friends living?

And I find it extremely stupid that People will spend 10 million for Japa only to be a security man, warehouse guys and caregivers

10m will always build you a good business in Nigeria that can scale in 24 months

You are not spending naira in the EU or euros in Nigeria. The so-called exchange rate does not hold. Your expenses are in Euros, ditto your earnings. Comot your eye for that exchange rate. It would not favour you o. Obviously, as your income rises, you can comfortably send something home, no matter how small the difference go make sense. But while earning lowly, living in the abroad can be frustrating. Living abroad is enjoyable when one earns well, well educated, speak the native language, is a naturalised citizen etc. Also, the person's previous living conditions in Nigeria must be considered. A truckpusher in Nigeria who moves to Switzerland to pluck fruits or become maiguard has made it, but not so for an accountant or medical laboratory professional in Nigeria who moves to same Switzerland to become a security man.

This development is very recent. In my over 20 years in Canada living in 3 provinces, people who migrate through the study route are either sponsored by rich parents for undergraduate studies or graduate students with university fundings. This I can say for Canada. It is recently that you find people with established careers coming to do diplomas in colleges.

People doing minimum wage jobs don't have enough with them after paying all bills. They struggle a lot. The good thing is that people are not expected to stay on those type of jobs forever.
