Niger-Delta Group Accuses Oil Bunkers of frustrating Tantita, Army, and Civil Defence in the Fight Against Oil Theft

The Niger-Delta Environmental Justice Coalition has accused oil bunkers in the Niger-Delta region of intentionally frustrating the efforts of Tantita Ltd, the Nigerian Army, and the Civil Defence in their fight against oil theft.

Speaking at a press conference in Yenagoa, Comrade Abalagha Adawari, the group's spokesman, highlighted that a powerful cabal led by certain oil bunkers is determined to frustrate the joint initiative of Tantita, the Army, and the NSCDC in safeguarding oil pipelines against vandals.

In their official statement, the coalition expressed deep concern over a critical issue that poses a significant threat to the region's stability and the well-being of its people.

The statement reads in part;

“It has come to our attention that a group of unpatriotic individuals, in collusion with oil bunkers and vandals, are actively working to undermine the noble mission of Tantita Ltd, the Nigerian Army, and the Civil Defence to protect the region's oil assets. Tantita, under the leadership of Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has successfully made substantial progress in securing the region's vital resources and intercepting the theft of precious oil.”

The coalition emphasized the importance of their work, considering the decades of environmental degradation, economic exploitation, and social injustice that the Niger Delta has endured.

“The actions of these oil bunkers and vandals not only pose a threat to the environment but also deprive communities of the resources necessary for sustainable development and a brighter future.”

As a coalition dedicated to environmental justice, we vehemently condemn these acts of sabotage and call upon the Nigerian government and international organizations to extend their support to the efforts of Tantita Ltd, the Nigerian Army, and the Civil Defence.

They stressed the need for unified action in protecting the environment, the people, and the future of the region.

Furthermore, the coalition demanded that the Nigerian government promptly and decisively address those individuals who are determined to undermine the collective well-being of the region. They also appealed to the international community to recognize the significance of this struggle and provide the necessary support to ensure that justice prevails.

In conclusion, the coalition urged the Federal Government to intensify their efforts in protecting the country's oil assets. They also called upon President Tinubu not to succumb to the whims and caprices of those who seek to sabotage the joint efforts of Tantita, the Army, and the Civil Defence in the Niger-Delta, as their collaborative work has already yielded positive results in increased oil production.

The soldiers were reportedly lured into the creek opposite Okuama community and were all killed but no one has questioned why trained soldiers were killed and those that conveyed them with speed boat survived. The question begging for an answer is, does Tantita security rent their speed boats? Does it mean that the 181 Amphibious Battalion has no speed boat they use for routine patrol?

Until the military authorities can explain the exact nature of the ‘peace mission’ warranting the soldiers’ presence in the community, the street narrative of the military intervention of working under the dictates of Tompolo and Akpobolokem may become attractive and may snowball into a nationwide narrative.

The push back propaganda have started. Meanwhile, what is the job of the Nigerian Navy if Tompolo's Tantita company is being employed to police the coastal waterways though all of them are rogues in the oil bunkering criminality?

How? There are many questions to be answered. Firstly, why the use of Tantita boat by the military? Secondly, why is Tompolo controlling resources not from his state? Thirdly, is Tompolo bigger than the whole of Niger Delta to have been the one controlling all their creeks? And what has Tompolo done with the money he has been making to make the lives of Niger Delta region meaningful? Lastly, what is wrong with black people sef?

The push back propaganda have started.
When I saw the topic, I knew they have started. Investigate the coalition, you will confirm.

The propagandist is not so smart. If I was the one, I would not include Tantita and the Army in the same document since ICIRN has alleged that they are a conjoined twins in this case. This is like giving credence to the ICIRN report already.

So Tompolo and the Army are now buddies? Same guy that was declared wanted.
My opinion is that the Army, Tompolo's Tantita, and the other guys described as powerful cartels, are in the same business of oil bunkering. Each group trying to outdo the other.

Tompolo is not competent to handle such a big contract. With this contract, Tompolo will create more problems in the future. He's known for double standard against the Urhobo and Itsekiri communities in the delta Rivers. His influence has brought more pains to the delta than before. The contract should be revoked and allow every community monitor it's environment.

The military is ramping up pressure on these oil thieves causing environmental degradation.

If this administration can severely reduce oil theft and ramp up production to 2 to 2.2 barrels, would be huge!!

Enough to sell to local refineries and export!!

We will also boost revenue to fund critical infrastructure.
