Nothing is complex. I gave her an explanation on why we import crude oil for now.
Nigeria’s crude being expensive or high in quality isn’t a problem for dangote. If you watch the interview on refineries and crude supply, you will understand that quality and price isn’t dangote’s problem but the time of crude supply to his refinery is not helping matters. Quality and price isn’t the problem, don’t get it wrong. Are you producing enough to meet the demands on ground?. Nigeria struggled to give dangote the first batch of oil (1m barrels). It took them months because, we were having various issues.
That is an explanation based on what fact You do not have access to information that the rest of us don't
If you do tell us exactly how many barrels of oil were sold
That is a half truth

Just tell us the figure

Even the story here said it was PRICE
Nigerian crude production daily is not fixed
It fluctuates.
Oil receipts still enter the federation account and are being shared
There is no obligation for Dangote to use Nigerian crude if he has significantly cheaper options for ever.
This report is based on prices this week
No one struggled to supply Dangote
He could have been the one to buy the futures he did not because he did not know when his refinery would be ready
Was he stopped from buying in advance?
You don't just wake up and saysell me crude on Monday
The oil is almost always sold on contract
Dangote is the one that had issues
If not he would have paid in advance like others did
Those that bought are they not refineries
Are they breweries?

What are you saying?… your writeups are not straightforward.. what are you asking me exactly?..
How are crude oil priced?.. you think it’s Nigerian government that sells crude at any price they want?, because you’re emphasizing on price.
If you don’t know , the Muhammad buhari administration sold crude oil in advance and that’s one of the major reasons we are having low inflow of forex from sales. I think it’s best you make research before we start wasting time on issues that’s not worth the time. Dangote will keep buying oil from any region (based on his refinery design), and not because of price.

Do a quick Google search to see how much Crude Saudi Arabia imports

This same. USA is a net exporter of crude

It imports and exports crude

Which is a completely different business from refining

Any country can go into refining
Totally different issue

Nigeria has the highest quality crude oil in terms of yield and low sulfur
Dangote designed his refinery for. ALL TYPES of crude and does not have to use Bonny light

It is good for the country if it can get a higher price for Bonny light and import cheaper WTI TEXAS
Many of you talk for the sake of talking on issues you are clueless about

TODAY THE PRICE DIFFERENCE IS NINE dollars a barrel calculate that by our daily production in a YEAR

How many barrels a day and for how many months did Buhari sell in advance?
The figure please?
Why did Dangote not buy in advance?
Did he offer to buy and they refused him?
Did selling oil in advance. start with Buhari government
Most crude oil in the world is sold in advance it is nothing new.
Dangote is NOW BUYING IN ADVANCE
He did not do so before because of uncertainty about the completion date of the refinery
But the point is he
Still is not obliged. to use Nigerian crude and Nigeria can sell to others if they get better offers even Saudi does that

That is not the only explanation
Nigerian crude is the highest quality and higest priced
TODAY We are taking 9 dollars difference
If that difference persists there is no need to ever use Nigerian oil
It makes sense to export our premium crude and import cheaper crude

Even Saudi Arabia imports crude from Nigeria despite being a leading exporter
It is more complex than what you are saying
That doesn't explain it.

If it's higher quality, why pay for movement and extra refining? It has more to do with volume and it's availability. Or monopolistic rebates.

Deepwater or deepwaters, we need you to explain this.

It is way more expensive to produce crude in Nigeria, then in the United States.

Re: Dangote Refinery Ramps Up Production With US Crude – Bloomberg by CharlesofJesus: 3:28pm On Apr 19, 2024
You can inquire with your government or search online for further details. Are you aware of the challenges Dangote faced in getting the refinery operational? Surprisingly, even the federal government seemed reluctant. Why? Because it could potentially disrupt Nigeria's daily barrel volume, with Dangote possibly purchasing a significant portion. It's concerning that Nigeria hasn't shifted its focus from exporting crude to exporting refined products like PMS, Diesel, Engine oil, and jet fuel to earn foreign currency. It reflects a lack of forward-thinking on the part of the government.

Microbekorede:
I think Dangote can do better by reducing the price of dsel to 850 then we can now hopefully know that is going to do better for petrol

Actually it does explain it it is about running the numbers.
All these monopolistic debate conspiracy is unfounded
Nothing will explain it to you because one does not rouse a person pretending to be asleep
Dangote designeda refinery that can refine ALL TYPES of crude
That was deliberate

So that was already there in design and planning that he wouldnotbe dependent on Nigerian crude
What many of you miss is imagining a scenario where he does not sell his products in Nigeria. AT ALL. You think the location is a mistake
What if he does not use Nigerian crude and not sell in Nigeria
Just like those selling to us today from Europe do
Many refineries can handle Only one type of crude

Those countries that we import petrol from today are not crude producers

You need to get your head around the concept that crude production and refining are SEPARATE BUSINESSES
Just like Gold Mining and Jewelry
Cocoa Production and chocolate

How much chocolate is made in West Africa

Business is not sentiments

It is numbers

Others are building refineries too so there is nothing strange about a scenario where Dangote buys crude abroad and exports everything one day in the future
It is all about imagination
