The wailings from Plateau are becoming annoying. Can't they defend themselves? Why always them and Benue look weak and clueless? It is not as straightfoward as you think. Have you tried to legally get a weapon for hunting or self defence in this country? Try to do so and you'll understand.

And if you procure a firearm without a licence (in the name of self defence) and the system goes after you - you don't have a case, legally speaking. You can arm yourself to stay alive - after all, there are several people who do exactly this - but all it takes is a chance encounter with some task force members or police - and if you are searched and an unlicenced weapon is found on you - that's when you'll understand how truly unjust this country really is.

In case you didn't know, there has been violence (lots of it for several years) in Nassarawa and Adamawa. But there is a key difference between these two states and the states you have described as 'weak' and 'clueless'. I'm sure you know what that difference is.

And that difference is part of the reason why Benue and Plateau are under siege.

President Tinubu clearly doesn't have control over the entire nation.

You do have a point. Since the buck stops at Tinubu's table as the CinC he does have the rare opportunity NOW to boldly restucture the entire core Security Structure of the country in such a way that states with coherent and uniform values get clumped together in a firm Regional Security Framework where they ultimately have their own IGP and other DSS type functions answerable only to the President. So if you have 6 or 8 regions with an IGP that reflects the core values and interests of their own people--you will not have a situation like now where everything is centralized into some primitive Fulani Muslim abusing his office to spread jihad where they feel like.

The Middle Belr urgently needs its own Regional Security Framework that woks and answers only to the President. Let every other zone or region struggle for theirs also. Enough of this centralized nonsense!
