They are using oil money to build expensive houses without recourse to the host communities. An oil-producing community has its people living in the bush for fear of the Army, another community was razed down in 1999. None of them cares after all, it's not their affliction. All these inactions fuels youth restiveness. I have been expecting “elder States-men” to speak out, even to appeal to the Army, but they seem to have lost their voice. |
