I just read a story just now about a pastor who ask is member to sow his Lexus car that things will start moving well for him 4 months later nothing change and the guy went back to collect his car from the pastor and the pastor said he has sold the car already.

Another example a pastor said in the next 6 months time you will be a bank manager 6 months later it didn't happen.

Another example a pastor said before the end of this year you will build a house the following year the person is still a tenant,

So now my question is, is it punishable by law when you give a prophecy that didn't come to pass?

419 is a crime. But it is hard to prove when one willingly submits to it. undecided

It is not but when the prophesy is given to make another part with his resources, it is. If you talk to someone like a scammer without making the person give you something. It is not a crime.

The victims of such false declaration should know that they have been conned. The next stop is to visit the EFCC or get a good lawyer in order to retrieve whatever might have been forcefully stolen

How much "conning" amounts to conning in Law because people con everyday under the cover of joke and prayer/well wishes and statements that should not be taken seriously.

However, i think the pastor can be gotten to.pay damages.under false misrepresentation .
