Yes. This is true
If you don't touch the eggs or change their position, thy can lay up to 15 b4 thy start covering (boarding).
I have a native hen that just started laying 5days back, as at today she has layed 6 eggs, I eat 1 tho.

I started with 3 hen and 1cock in Nov, as at today I have total of 26 chicken.
It would have been more if not that I always eat their eggs.

I discovered a way to increase production, one the hen hatch, after 2weeks I separate the chicks from their mom and in 2 weeks, she starts laying again.

Asides management cost, broiler beats village chicken

Go and buy breeder broiler and see

And with dis your pictures you are spending more on the management and housing of your village chicken

Most likely you will be giving dem medications too
