Please Nigerians if your money is with someone who is s fraudulent, try to settle out of court or use resources outside of court . Negotiate and get whatever you can .

Now the 25 million then is way more valuable than now . The legal charges and stress for 13 years is crazy and atimes not worth it.

Imagine the amount of returns Psquare would have made by simply fixing that money for 13 years ? At 10 percent per year without compounding it is 2.5 million times 10years ( assuming they got the high court judgement after 3 years . That’s 25 million returns . Our long court process is a weapon fashioned against the just .

There is a reason politicians adjusted the electoral process to ensure all electoral cases are completed within 6 months .

N25m is not the issue here because it has been paid back long ago.

The issue is Psquare trying to stop or retrieve the payment by using the court.

And the court having thoroughly looked at the case felt Psquare wasted their time and that of Patrick and then awarded 1m to Patrick for the time.

The main issue now is the 1m. It’s too small for all the time and money Patrick would have wasted.

For me, Patrick lost heavily in this case and that was what the naughty twins wanted.

Some Nigerians are terrible.
In the estate where I leave the yearly facilities maintenance & security fee is N80k. Some people will not pay but prefare to take the excos to court spending hundreds of thousands of Naira.

This has nothing to do with refund. Why will anyone accept a refund? It is breach of contract. How much is the money paid to their artist compared to how much the promoter spent on the show, adverts etc. His loss of reputation nko? Damage to his brand?
If you read the 25m judgement, you might see eg 5m for refund of payment to artist and then 20m for damages.

It's actually no money if you consider the time value of money. It was delayed for more than 10yrs. The penalty for wasting the time of court and everyone should have been more severe.

After Mr Patrick has deducted his SAN's legal fees, and other monies he spent on logistics pursuing this case since 2011, I wonder how much he will have left.

This is one of the reasons why people have lost confidence in the Nigerian Judiciary. Justice delayed is almost always Justice denied

Even the PSquare guys are extremely wicked.. They couldn't pay off Mr Patrick when they failed to show up at his event after being paid, but they had money to pay lawyers to frustrate him and drag the matter right up to the Supreme Court ...

In this kind of situation, the court further awarding exemplary damages of like 300m against PSquare would have set a deterrent against such disgusting behaviour...

Isn't the award of damages within the purview of the trial court (i.e, the high Court)? If u are referring to award of cost, I would understand the choice of words but even at that, 300m for cost? Not a chance in hell
