The scarcity of premium motor spirit (PMS), commonly referred to as petrol, has persisted nationwide, giving rise to the proliferation of black marketers who sell the product at prices as high as N1,200 per litre in some locations. https://dailytrust.com/petrol-scarcity-worsens-nationwide/ 6 Likes 2 Shares

IJIOTS It's only in Nigeria that you will see some questionable characters piloting their affairs and some senseless urchins will be praising them in an empty stomach How can a criminal and a thief like Gbola Tilumbu be a president and you will not suffer? This one you are seeing now is just ' testing the microphone'. Have it in mind that he is not up to a year oh. By the time he is through with his administration, half of una would have been dead from hunger and depression. Most of the married men are having issues with their wives because of financial constraints caused by this senseless thief. Just enter any hospital now, almost all the married men are diagnosed with high blood pressure because of this man's policies. Make una just braze up because Nigeria future under this okpolo eyes is bleak but it will favour me and my family 46 Likes 4 Shares |

The task of Nation Building is a difficult one that requires all hands on deck. But can we ever be united in this noble task? Very unlikely. One Nigeria remains a Scam. 33 Likes 2 Shares

This government is becoming ridiculous. Local refineries should be prioritized and supply of crude oil to the refineries at reasonable prices should be government's priority. How can you be selling Nigerian crude oil, at given price into the future, without adequate provision for local refineries. The local refineries should have right of first refusal 12 Likes 2 Shares |

The real enemies of this nation are those who organized and sponsored the Ojota subsidy protests because the fuel pump price was N120 per liter but are now keeping quiet now that the pump price is over N1200 with the attendance scarcity. 46 Likes 5 Shares |

Bobloco:120 a litre was around $0.67 and N1000 a litre of today about $0.76 so let's learn to be fair when making comparison. The govt of 2012 did not bring dollars from their villages, it is still same crude they sold to provide forex and thus keep the naira where it was then. Lets learn to critique with fairness. 8 Likes 2 Shares |

gaby: Buhari also by continuing spending on subsidy left us with debts that by August 2022 were eating 90% of our revenue, which is the genesis of the current price issue and difficulty in spending on subsidy(as eloquently put in this article published in 2022) Buhari and tinubu also opposed GEJ's sane plan to end subsidy in 2011/12, and at a time when we would have been able to get some sort of cushion for the thing's removal...and led Nigerians to oppose the plan....result...the current issues we have today. 2 Likes |

it is crystal clear that this country was designed to fail becos why fuel scarcity even in this time of epilectic power supply and high transportation cost. 12 Likes 2 Shares |
Re: Petrol Scarcity Worsens Nationwide by nairalanda1(m): 1:28pm On Apr 29 |
karkinase: Because Nigerians do not want to pay the market price of petrol and power. That is why you have epileptic power and epileptic petrol supply. Right now, you all are supposed to pay N184 per kwh of power, and N1000 and above for petrol. Yet, only 20% of us pay above N184 per kwh for power now, and petrol is below N800 at most filing stations, N900 at worst. SO, at the end, nothing would smoothly run. Subsides are supposed to bridge the gap, but are usually not sufficent. Corruption is a part of the issue, but the main thing is that it costs money to produce petrol and power. And if you are not paying above the cost of production, issues are going to arise. DO you have issues with your phone usage? Issues with food supply? Or issues sending a parcel? No, because they all are allowed to charge their prices for services rendered. Power , like I said is supposed to be N184, yet until recently, 100% of the country was paying below N71 per kwh. Now it is 80% See, profit lubiricates things. take away the right of profit in the name of helping the poor, and providers will find it difficult to give you a-grade service, because it would make them so broke, their accounts would be reading something like minus one million dollars..lol. You won't sell your product below what it cost to produce it to help poor nigerians. 2 Likes |
