Court slams Linda Ikeji with N30 million damages

Linda Ikeji was hit with N30 million in general damages by the Delta State High Court in Effurun for her defamatory publication about the Neo-Black Movement (NBM) in Africa.

The Nigerian blogger was also given N300,000 in lawsuit expenses by Justice Roli Daibo-Harriman, the sitting judge, according to reports on Monday.

Additionally, Linda Ikeji was mandated by the court to take down the offending defamatory post from her site.

In addition, Linda Ikeji, a defendant in the EHC/210/2021 lawsuit, was told to refrain from publishing any further unfavorable statements about the claimants or any NBM of Africa members. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

The claimants in the action were the Registered Trustees of NBM of Africa, Ese Kakor, Felix Kupa, and Mayor Onyebueke.

The NBM of Africa and three others took Ikeji to court after she refused to honor the demand letter of retraction and apology for the libelous material published on her blog on October 19, 2021.

In her publication on October 19, 2021, the blogger allegedly referred to NBM of Africa as a terrible cult group, , criminal organization, and other titles.

“This will serve as a lesson to bloggers that it is not every item you publish. It is good to verify information before making a publication.

“NBM of Africa is a legal organization duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

“The publication made by the defendant against my client has been cleared that it was a damaging publication.

“NBM is good to go, we are going to take all necessary steps to enforce the terms of the judgment against her.

“It was an erudite judgment that is all-encompassing and will be difficult to fault,” Agbroko said.

How I wish our judiciary system can be this efficient when handling corruption cases against politicians but unfortunately, when it comes to corruption cases that involve politicians, the judges take their own share and bend d law to unknown direction.

I have this feeling that very soon, Nigerians will rice up and do the needful, the whole world will stand still for Nigeria as the dead bodies of politicians and their relatives will littered on the streets...I have been having this feeling for a while now.
It won't be planned by anyone or any group but just a little spark somewhere and it will happen.

The army, police and all low ranking security operatives will desert our elite as they took will be seeking their own revenge against politicians.

This is just a feeling that have refused to leave my mind for sometime now but I am still sure this will come to pass and the country will open a new chapter of prosperity and success in every area of concern

Long overdue!
It is high time someone showed this nuisance the way to Kirikiri, a lot of persons have complained of this same thing. Pull down defamation, but she will refuse and be calling you unprinted names like she is untouchable.

She was defaming one small boy the other time that the mother was bleaching his skin which the mother debunked and asked her to pull down the story and stop embarrassing the boy. She now even went further by digging the boy's old and present pictures and continued embarrassing the child and mother publicly just for clicks. The woman threatened her with a Law suit before she stopped. Ironically, she has used bleaching cream to burn all her own son's skin.

She posted fake burning of MTN office in Nigeria during xenophobic attack in SA which escalated the issue and cost a lot of Nigerians their properties and lives in SA.
She's the same one that posted fake DJ switch arrest.
