Is it him that determines where the road will run?

So he even knew it was land earmarked for a road, and he built a resort there?

Mssheww.

Can he try that in UK or America?

Read what he wrote again..this time , put on ur thinking cap. He said the man knew about the road, so he acquired the land which according to original plan. The road would run behind the property. He saw it as an opportunity

Plus Tayo Aina needs to SHUT THE HELL UP, and go live wherever he wants and stop using Nigeria as his excuse.

Idiot too stupid and full of himself to see the big picture.

But the Govt collects taxes from them and generate revenue too ...so what's your argument?
motymop:
Tayo aina doesn't know what he talking about, In Europe, and America or even south africa, you can not build on a property just because you bought the land, you have to have the right permit and government approved documents.

I am not against landmark destruction but Landmark isnt a tourist destination. Landmark is just like a small beach side resort for those who can afford it. and lets not talk about the overpriced and exploiting restaurants and cafe along that oniru shorelines

How many tourist visit landmark? majority of customers in landmark are Nigerians

it unfortunate that some people have spined these stuff into a tribal issue but along that shores, lot of restaurants, shops and also shanties will also be destroyed.

if we take into consideration, the effort the lagos and federal government took to reclaim most of that land from the ocean, they spent billions of naira doing that, but then how can you now claim ownership of something that has a master plan and the government have spent billions of dollars in doing.

Have you ever thought why there are no beach front house properties in Nigeria? it is because of the landuse acts and the claim that from 250M from the beach shore, the government owns it.

so why spin the news into something tribal, when you know you are breaking the land use act and also the government master plan
Re: Landmark Demolition: I'm Glad I Left Nigeria - Tayo Aina by Sheuns(m):
Wasn’t this guy that said something about beachfronts in other countries being free to access?

Some people think they’re so important that if they leave Nigeria they’ll be felt.

The problem I have with Lagos State government and Federal government is allowing individuals and businesses buy and build on lands that are for the government only later to demolish structures years later.

If a land belongs to the government under no circumstance should the land be available for sale or purchase. Erect giant boards on them warning that the lands belong to the government.

No, Tayo Aina, in those places you mentioned with your inferiority complex, you cannot build on a land you know has been earmarked for a road, and then when time comes to build the road, you start instructing the govt where the road should pass through.

You can never try that in those countries you worship, Mr Aina.
If he acquired it , knowing that road will run through it

He should take his L in peace unless he has connections that can save him deep in govt

No court can save him in such a situation.

So you didn't know the Initial govt plan was to pass behind the business and not in front?
There are more businesses and buildings at the at the back and behind the landmark building, so you want the government to destroy them to protect landmark that has broken the federal government shoreline rules

Landmark was a good thing to happen in Lagos but they destroyed it. Many secrets beginning to reveal. Politics is really dirty. Only the so called supporters suffer. The money ppl are blinded by their wealth!

The truth is if Tinubu has major investment in that area. No one will think of demolishing it

When he gets to the country he is, Let him go and build anywhere he likes
Was landmark built anywhere the owner liked, was it not approved and legally purchased? So how does "let him go and build anywhere he likes" address his point? No investor would like to invest in a country where a government can just wake up tomorrow and demolish your hard earned investment. Address that instead of spitting out platitudes.

These people should lie with conscience!

You still dont get. There's an existing road there that won't affect Landmark. This was what they used in buying and designing their business, not what is currently happening.

This is a learned Yoruba man talking and you can see how sensible he sounds, but when the frustrated, no future ambition ebin pa wa hungry ones talk, you will just shake your head at their primitivity.

The same foolish old criminal called Tinubu lied shamelessly that Maersk was going to invest $600 million in Nigeria. His band of fellow criminals under him went about town celebrating the fake news, only for Maersk to openly disgrace them that such discussion never happened. But these same fools out of primitive bitterness choose to destroy $250 million worth of investment established by a Nigerian.

If they so much cherish investments, to the extent of spreading lies, why then destroy the ones you already havehuh

Tinubu the drug lord and his evil cartel will pay for all these crimes one way or another.

Is landmark paying more tax than the offices and businesses in VI?

Tax isnt everything. do you know how many businesses have been destroyed in that axis before landmark came there?

Lot of business, offices and shanties have been destroyed before on that shore lines but so called land owners kept selling to these people who dont do verification.

Tayo Aina
welcome to ur beloved country.

Tayo Aina is one of the few Nigerians that have attracted real respect and accolades to Nigeria for some years now through his Youtube videos.
He has done faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar more for Nigeria than even government officials in highest positions, at least on tourism.
But watch as oafs and local touts who only support irresponsible government policies try to attack his credibility and reputation simply because he spoke the truth.
Now, even the Ainas have fled the country.

One of the yoruba guys I like and respect... Not the tribal dogs that can't reason properly... Slaves to corruption.

What would someone doing thuggery for a living know about a $200M investment.

In the West that Tayo has gone to, Govt has the power to take away someone's private property for public use, with “just compensation.” in a process called Eminent Domain. Google it.

Racoon:
Nigeria is warped to kill dreams and potentials just to keep the country in bandage to the corrupt kleptomatic fiends holding her to ransome. Good roads are good, but would an investment be destroyed to give rise to a costal highway?

Meanwhile, the Lagos-Badagry, Lagos-Ibadan and Abuja-Lokoja highways have been dragging for years. Yet Dave Umahi is obsessed with building another coastal highway after his charade of a white-elephant variegated colour unproductive Airport in Ebonyi state.
this is what we keep saying but supporters of this govt won't listen, many many more impactful projects need to be completed before embarking on new ones. they keep saying the nation is broke and yet they keep starting huge projects with borrowed funds when there are already existing alternatives that need funds for repair

The existing road is a state road, if use for the project, it will cause lot of traffic in that end. dont forget a train line and a interstate coastal highway will be located in that axis all sponsored by the federal government
