I miss the once peaceful Nigeria when I was just traveling from State to State on tour. My children may not be able to enjoy that cause it is safer for them to spend holidays in Singapore or Canada than even traveling to their village.

You don't ride bicycles on highways. Not very safe as speed limit ranges between 80 to 100km/hr. If you get hit at that speed the next thing you will see is the pearly gate.
Another reason is that most people don't travel interstate on bicycles.

Your national assembly members are supposed to demand for the construction of this road. If they are docile, the road will remain like this or even get worse & your pple will continue to suffer from it.
Nobody is marginalizing you, it's your representatives that fail to speak up when representatives of other regions are demanding the best for their pple.

Hmmm, I'm not sure your answer is watertight. Safety features can always be made in any prospective bicycle lane incorporated expressway. And if provisions for bicycles are made on expressways, there would be an increase of cyclists to patronise them. I suspect the best argument against bicycle lanes incorporated express ways is cost.


The video below is of a China bicycle highway. Bicycle highways in of themselves don't appear to be a new idea, since a few Scandinavian nations may be first to have created them but the one in China may be more relevant to our discussion since it seems the Chinese incorporated this one beside an expressway.

This 20 km Ihialla-Orlu federal road between Anambra and Imo States has been like this for ages.
The Ekwulobia-Orlu section of Awka-Ekwulobia-Ideato-Orlu-Umuaka-Owerri federal highway has been unusable since a bridge was not built before Buhari military govt struck in 1983.
Going from Awka to Owerri has been like a circumnavigation.

Methinks, the other road - the Awka-Owerri road- is also held up because Reps from the area are apparently docile. This road meant to connect to Abuja has been in disuse state because a bridge was not constructed before Buhari military govt came in.
