This post is in response to this:

Ordinarily, one should be excited that one of the platforms of the Nigerian airforce is being celebrated on the front page. The Nigerian airforce in my estimation, are very professional and under-celebrated in what they do. They don't mind however, so long as the job gets done.

The NAF has a number of platforms. And anyone who truly knows about them, will regard the post which link I posted above, to be an insult to the officers of the Nigerian airforce, who have lost thier lives using the f7ni chengdu.

I will not go into details of how Nigeria even bought these Chinese made Jets in the first place. I do know for a fact that we bought 12 and less than 7 are currently operational. The NAF has lost well trained officers due to this platform. The chengdu has been and is still a distaster. The international community calls it the 'widow-maker'.

Nigeria never planned to buy these jets. And we wouldn't if Yar'Adua hadn't died. Jonathan signed off on their purchase without understanding the purpose of having fighter aircraft.

The F7Ni Chengdu is well over 25 years. Its capabilities or lack thereof aren't things worth talking about at the moment. The fighter jet however, has no business on nairaland frontpage.

She was a helicopter pilot. Her death was totally not in the line of duty. An idiot reversing his vehicle without looking so his rear view mirror, crushed her to death.

She was phenomenal. Not too many helicopter pilots could handle the Russian made MI-35p on which she was certified for. Nigeria lost a great pilot in her.
