I visited that place with two of my friends about 10 days ago. One worked with ICJ in Hague while the other is with AU at Addis. We were both students several years ago in a University in IBO land. They chatted this morning again about EFCC out of Court settlement with Cubana Chief Priest.

The Yorubas need to chart a course out of Nigeria. Our nature doesn't work with the people we are grouped with in Nigeria. The IBOS are now trying to win over ignorance, naive and confused Yoruba youths.

OBASANJO tried Sunday Afolabi, Tafa Balogun and Mrs Bolaji Osomo. I was in Abuja ( NASS ) during Yaradua's trial of Prof (Mrs) Nike Grange and Iyabo Obasanjo. I witnessed the travail of Patricia Etteh.

If Bobrisky were to be IBO and Chief Priest Yoruba, the Social Media would have been on fire by now. We spent 6 years with them, we know them.

Few days ago, I reminded people that Chief Afe Babalola's first office was among the demolished buildings at Ibadan for the building of Adamasingba Stadium. I don't know how an economic immigrant to Lagos will tie down the development, government and the people because of his business .

The Yoruba elites need to think deeply.

This page can spend hours on two or three pages because it concerns YORUBA and Voice of Reasoning. If it were the other people, before one hour, you are on the 10th page.

All that you detailed except the Ibadan part that affected Chief Afe Babalola, is well known to me. Despite that I am still under 40yrs of age.

The sophisticated Yorubas are the problem we Yorubas would have in the long run.

Akotiletas!

I would say I belong to that category, but the happenings in the Jonathan regime and my experience on Nairaland, gave me a bird-eye view to all that was happening in the minds of those I thought were my fellow country men

This is hoping that Bolaji Ariyo of "Mani Chula" can get a better alternative land down the road with tax holiday and a few other benefits for his MATURITY in letting go of that beach resort of his and for his service to his country.

The beach front is of national strategic and security significance
There was a recent case decided at the Supreme court between the Federal government and the state
The honest objective question you must ask yourself is why that case was started in the first place and whether it was about any individual

The ruling is that 250metres of coast inwards belongs to the FG

This was not under Tinubu

And even Lagos state was against the FG in the case

The point is that National governments and navies need to dominate and control the coastline for obvious security reasons
Even where there are to be coastal business the principle established is that this must be at the discretion of the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT .

The moment the Federal Government(Not Tinubu's ) won that case it meant anyone who bought or leased land from Lagos or any coastal state had lost out
The Federal government does not owe them any compensation or consideration

No one can buy the coast that is the law and in all honesty it is a good law

That does not mean it cannot be leased if security permits but that will be down to the FG

You are the one that needs to cure your ignorance

The beachfront is our commonwealth
It is not for sale
Very well said.

That young dude called Tayo Aina who is also a member of NL has to read this and more to get himself updated on the law and the true situation of things being a graduate of real estate himself and not speak from the point of pure ignorance while misleading some of his 1 million followers. Period.

Someone came to invest in Lagos, Tinubu destroyed his business for no valid reason and you all are defending Tinubu's action out of tribal affiliations.

You guys don't know what you've done

Someone who was sold a parcel of land to establish his business, decided to encroach on federal government owned beach that nobody sold to him. Many did same like him and were all enriched by this illegal act.

Now the FG has come to reclaim the said beach to implement an interstate project, but all Igbos are supporting their Igbo land encroacher and making him an only victim when the FG is the actual victim.

When will Igbos evolve beyond this clannish approach to issues?

Who builds road on the coast? Tourist centres? Of what gain is building this road on the beach? This particular road can still run in the place already allotted for it during Jonathan regime.
Bringing Obi in this is trash because Obi destroyed structures built on already existing road. Tinibu neglected the map set out for this Lagos-calabar coastal road, to deal with his political enemies, he went to beach to build a major road. Incredible
So the Ariyo that is a point of discourse who didn't make noise about all this is a political enemy too? Wow...some of you just talk because you have a huge gaping hole in your face. Ahn ahn imagine someone in the 21st century asking what is the use of that road on that beach?

Does landmark or any other business there own the beach? All this victim mentality won't do you and your ilks any good!

Well, one thing I know neither Landmark or anybody can stop the ongoing project. If you like build UN building there it will go down.

How many times will they tell you that FG is only patnering hi-tech to construct the road?...FG is not paying all the 15trillion.

You guys just like to swallow any rubbish as long as its against the government
If your definition of hypocrite means saying the right thing, yes I'm one. I don't care about what Obi or your master is saying. The fact remains that there are roads more important should channel that resources to. It doesn't matter if it's east, west, south or north provided that money is used in rebuilding and reconstructing existing roads that needs attention.

I mentioned a particular road that requires attention, of which I'm not even from there. But seeing what people through using that road requires that the road be given an immediate attention. That's my concern

The last time I checked the beach front belongs to the FG......they can decide to do anything there any time........even if they have an agreement with any investors .....

.but they will be duly compensated, if they have any agreement with the FG or state government.

So I don't understand the crying is all about .... especially Landmark ......he can't tell me that he doesn't know the law about water fronts..........

Oga you invest based on the law in existence not what the law you wish. If the law says you don’t own the beach and they can’t lease it to you, a prudent man then adjusts his business model to see if it is viable without the beach or find another business. all this one he is saying I am sure he enquired about purchase or leasing and they turned him down but he still went ahead.

If you ask me, he knew, he tried to buy or lease the beach but was unsuccessful but still went ahead anyway because his business is viable without the beach, just less profitable. He just making noise in the hope public outcry will save the beach. I can bet you he is not going out of business. There are many aspects of his business that have nothing to do with the beach. I am willing to place a bet with anyone that if you look at his business plan that he used to get investors, it will state there categorically under “threats” that the beach is not owned by him and a possible threat to the beach aspect of the business is the government taking ownership of the beach in future.

As for your comment that he won’t get it if he applies that is not accurate. He didn’t get it because he likely applied and he was rejected. There is a reason why some property titles are federal and some are state. Some of those who have infrastructure by the coastline e.g jetties have federal titles. There are even some waterfront properties in Lekki that are federal cofos.

Like I said he knows, he would have applied and he was rejected but likely went ahead because he assumed govt won’t do anything there for decades.
you are right anyway......But most of this people knows those areas are usually under government acquisition areas yet still purchase them .....its not even hidden a beach for that matter.........................the law that applies in Nigeria is more of socialist/welfarism less of capitalist they are all aware but since its a thriving venture they would still buy those lands

You're sending the right message to invesors esp foreign investors.

If a govt wanna destroy your business, it can change the original route of a road and say its for public good. Govt can always come up with reasons, its called federal might. However,
people are taking note
