Sowp is canceled currently because she is not a master student. Do you suggest I wait till she get pgwp and I apply for work instead of trying visit visa for her graduation date?
deejay102:

If you are legally married, TRV is the wrong visa to apply for. They are telling you to apply for a visa more suited for a married person. If your wife is A PR, she should just sponsor you. If not SOWP is your next best chance.

It will be pretty difficult to convince a VO that you want to visit your own wife and return. So they have given you a pointer. This was my situation so I know.

Quick one, a very good friend of mine who left me here for the UK and also into UK school route agency work who was supposed to process my COS in care work before UK wahala started just called me that he currently has a COS as a church staff for 3yrs and I'm allowed to come with a dependent for 8 months. I then asked if I thought the dependent had stopped in the UK, and he said that was for only skills worker routes,
Omo, the matter sweet for hear but that 8m na waiting for me I know to get.
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Deering1008: 9:43pm On May 02
That’s a charity visa you wanna get and you can’t work else where with it. In other words, with charity visa you can’t get a paid job. I may be wrong though.

Thanks for your clarification.

Personally, I used to believe Personal Support Worker is generally under Home Support Worker/ Caregiver because when you search on job bank for this occupation, you see it being attached with Home Support Worker, and Home Support Worker is a pilot program pathway to PR as attached above. I know just only one guy who was smart enough to have his medical upfront, WES evaluation and IELTS done before departing Nigeria with his VV and got a job offer as a Home Support Worker. Very rare and smart move. In fact, I got to know this pilot pogram through him. This guy was loaded with information before leaving and had planned himself well. While waiting for his VV to be approved, he was training as a voluntary caregiver with one old people's home in Nigeria and claimed it as a work experience in Canada. This was why I suggested above that all those coming with a VV should have plans on what they are coming to do and be loaded with vital info.

There is another person I know who did a VV extension and was given 1 year because he is waiting for one regional mominee program. He also had his medical upfront with him before leaving Nigeria. No wonder the Bible says, "My people perish for lack of knowledge." These two people didn't declare for asylum. And what differentiate them from others? *Forehand knowledge*

Now for those that studied PSW in Canada, they tend to occupy the PSW slots through work permit. I am not sure any employer would go through the LMIA stress for PSW on VV, but I have seen one person that used the Home Support Worker pilot pathway successfully which requires no LMIA. For the truck drivers route, I know it's not easy, but believe me, no route comes on a platter of gold as far as this Canada journey is concerned, but I still prefer it to asylum. It's all about determination. Just be focused throughout the learning period. Though it would be a bit easy if you have a driving experience back home, nonetheless, it's all about determination. Now, would you believe me when I said earlier that agents led a lot of people astray having seen a lot of asylum seekers in the shelter because that was exactly what their agents instructed them to do? Anyways, we can't stop people from applying for Canada VV or asylum, but we can create awareness of more pathways than the commonly known asylum route. Above all, let individuals pray before leaving for God's direction. If possible, ask God for His desired province for you before departing because when things are a bit rough, as long as you are walking in God's direction and leading, you would always be seeing a light at the end of the tunnel- which is your consolation.

Shalom

House34:

If you refer back to the initial question, it was based on Visitor Visa (VV) to Permanent Residency (PR) that the gentleman mentioned. The Home Child Care Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilot are different from the psw work route which requires a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) like any other job you obtain inside Canada to apply for a closed work permit with your visitor visa. The two schemes mentioned are not connected with an LMIA and can be applied for from outside Canada because they require WES verification, IELTS scores, and a job offer and it a sure path to PR . People often mix them together and end up paying for a program that is not useful to their current situation . On November 6, 2023, there was an administrative update made by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) that removed National Occupation Classification (NOC) code 73300 for truck drivers from the list of occupations eligible for a certificate of qualification. As a result of this update, truck drivers are no longer eligible for the 50 additional points available to those with a certificate of qualification under the Express Entry PR CRS, so the truck driver route is no longer an easy access to PR and it is also based on LMIA. And as you can see, I said it's closed, but now it's under LMIA AND moreso the truck driver process is not as easy as people say it for a visitor to get the required licences and employment as a new driver in canada . I'm not an immigration consultant, but I pass by 129 Peter Street in Ontario, the Assessment & Referral Centre for asylum seekers, and I hear many stories of the huge amounts people paid just for a visitor visa that could have been used for another route, but they lack information and end up on the asylum route outside waiting for a bed in the over-capacity shelter.i can only hope that God brings healing and guidance to our community and please enough of the insult on the forum and let just share information and exchange ideas.thanks

The VO would think the 10M is for demonstration purpose looking at the nature of your job.

The only option you have now is to apply for reconsideration to see if it will work. Is the 10M still in your account? If yes, write an emotional letter telling them how your presence is important to your wife on her graduation because this is a day she had looked forward to and now she is emotionally down as a result of not having her family around her on this occasion. Attach your statement of account to this reconsideration letter.

To further demonstrate your sure return, you can tell them your son would be waiting back(i.e. withdrawing
his application) to at least ensure one person is around for your wife on her graduation day in order for her dream to be fulfilled.

Reconsideration is the last option but at the same time not guaranteed.

I just hope the date of the graduation is around late June because it will take at least 3 weeks from PPR to receiving your stamped passport.

This is my opinion.

Shalom!!!

Please my people I'm trying to pay my application and biometric fee online. I have USD123 in my Chepper account but still indicates transactions declined. I thought USD123 was more than CAD185.
What could be the issue for the transaction being declined? Please help I'm on it now. Thanks in advance

Insufficient funds. The US$123 is just about CAD$165

Canadian Visa Professionals (CanadianVP) is a private company offering eligibility evaluations for those seeking to move to Canada as permanent residents. They collaborate with authorized consultants but aren't affiliated with Canada's government or the Canadian Immigration Consultants Council. It's essential to consider client feedback, as some reviews express concerns about their legitimacy .Please ignore them! you can process any canada immigration path way urself without any agent!

It a good suggestion to apply for reconsideration, but that's not often successful, especially since the visa officer has a valid point about your using a gift to fund a visit trip that's not for future business or education in Canada. However, you can reapply now after receiving your GCMS note and plan the visit for December's Christmas holiday. Meanwhile, your wife can obtain the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) and start working, including her work contract in your application. She can also write a more detailed compassionate letter explaining how she misses her family and needs them to visit for Christmas.

However, please focus more on the Permanent Residency (PR) route for your wife, as many students are struggling with the 1-year PGWP. Many students mistakenly think that Personal Support Worker (PSW) is the same as the Home Child Care Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilot, which is not the case. As a PSW, your wife will only qualify for PR through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), which is still under the Express Entry system and requires a minimum of 1 year of full-time work experience. The work accumulated during her study period will not be counted, so she will only have 1 year of work experience. After that, she will need to enter the pool to increase her points and wait for nomination, but as things stand, I don't see any province requesting PSW due to the law of demand and supply. Currently, there are many people looking for work as PSW, and even Canadian residents can't find work in this field. PSW is not in short supply; maybe other medical professions like nursing are, but not PSW.

Many students are misinformed, thinking they can choose a 1-year course, get a 1-year PGWP, and then get PR, but it often doesn't work that way. If you don't have a strong Express Entry profile already in place or your province doesn't have a program like the New Brunswick Private Career College program or Newfoundland and Labrador program, it may not be possible. For example, graduates of the Personal Care Attendant (PCA) program from some colleges will be eligible for employment as PCAs in all facilities operated by the four Regional Health Authorities in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Please research thoroughly before your wife pursues the PGWP, as some students are now looking for LMIA to stay in Canada after finishing the 1-year PGWP, but there is no provincial nomination, and it's risky to be out of status, as most workplaces refuse to get involved in the LMIA process. Even the Ontario International Students stream, one of the Employer Job Offer streams of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), targets foreign nationals who have completed a Canadian educational credential and have a job offer from an Ontario employer, but I doubt PSW will be nominated as things stand now with the current number of PSW graduates looking for jobs, even among residents. So, all these immigration routes require detailed research and not just relying on what one person said or experienced, as rules change from time to time, especially now with the rapidly changing Canadian immigration system. Please let make the group more information sharing and not insult !

It’s an opportunity to explore the UK and move to another route. If your options are limited, you can go for it but make sure you have other skills you can use to transition to another skilled visa category. You can as-well switch to spouse visa if you have a fiance in the uk. Just have a solid plan and bring plenty money for accommodation and feeding.

At present, it takes almost 6 months to get a decision. You can send them a webform to inquire about the application.

Meanwhile, August 2023 is a long time. Did your wife apply through an agent?
