This fool think say we Dey the same level.

Go and find your level. If you don’t have any reasonable thing to say, go cut grass.
You share the same level with toilet rats, stop looking for validity here. If you are not a verified fool, you wont advise minimum wage earner to spend 615,000 naira in a month.

I dont understand dis ur post. Can u be more clearer? I know dat you are not refering to me. But i will like to understand this your post.

A man earns 30usd a month and intends to buy a book worth 15 usd.

Compare that to a man who earns 100 usd a month.

Even if things are dirt cheap, you still will not be able to purchase anything in the international market.

Take openai chatgpt for example
Or try to take an online course on Udemy or Coursera

The lowest you can find them is 10 USD.

Convert your present Minimum wage to that and see if you can afford any of that in 1 year time assuming you have to pay for your shelter, transport etc

Ewu, you don’t know what those workers go through a day to survive. This is the reason your shithole will remain stagnant in life. Come to Canada and see how much is being paid per hour job and monthly payment.

You dey mind that yahoo boy grin grin
1Alex:
will your suggestion be done over night or even in one year? . So workers will keep perishing till they land on a solution after these trial and error policies?

Prices of everything have increased by more than 200% and the salaries remain the same. If you were a civil servant, you would not have made this suggestion.

Anyhow e go be make e be. Make them increase the minimum wage.

I am sure these guys are not really serious with this thing they are doing. Increments in salary will only invite inflation. For me, I think what the workers should fight for is the naira purchasing power. If my salary is 20k, I should be able to purchase good things with it. For example, with 20k salary:
Bag of rice.... #950
House rent (annually)... #230
Sch fees (private sch)... #110 (very expensive)
Car (moderate).... #6500 cheesy grin
Buy a house... #4250 etc
Oya wake me up!!

When the FG is not doing its work people will have to look out for themselves.
How come with all the money we hear they invested in rice farming things are still this bad ?
What Labour is doing is compelling the FG to do the right thing and fix the economy.

Over the roof spending by a minimum wage earner

The present NLC Leaders are a big suspect,as they are not Economic with the Truth and I doubt it they have idea of how Economic runs, because they are part and parcel of Nigeria Problems!
1.You don't throw Money to Workers anyhow, that means, you will be feeling the Economy with Inflation!
2. Labor leaders should be circumspect in their roles because trying hard to win Workers into your side , without ⚒️ hammering on the need for real-Productivity is like saying a butterfly will fly like an Eagle bird in the Air! That is deceitful!
Solutions to the Economy is:
1• More Production in ALL Sectors- Agric ,for instance - is vast, from Farming 🧺,to Livestocks,to Garri- Production,Yam, Millets,Palp oil,Rice Productions,Gis- Farming, etc, should be in high Productions in Nigeriasho
2.To achieve this,POWER/ LIGHTS MUST BE STABLE/ CONSTANT - for 24/ 7.
3.For it's Light - Power, that Drives ALL OTHER - Sectors, for rapid developments!
4,Since Labour leaders themselves are never Accountable from their Dues Collection and they rather went into Politics - leaving behind what they should be fighting for,on behalf of the Workers,I see them as Jokers!
For example, why can't they channel their energy on the Govt - to ensure Provision of Lights at all Cost ,as we Nigeria have what it takes to get Constant -Power but Corruption is the business? If Labour Leaders strike on that -;is that too much!
5.Since what Labour leaders are recommending - will be used as a baseline for ALL Others Negotiation - can Labour Leaders Pay such on their Own- for a sustainable economy, even for Small Scale Entrepreneur and Private Companies?
Let's be serious once and for all!
I will rather say they should call all Government Agencies and the Nigeria governors-to make 120,000- 150,000,as baseline,of Basic Salary and the other Allowances, should equally be Negotiated, internally!
Not the Politics that Labour Leaders are playing ,with the Salary Increases but the majority should see the inuendos in all these Labour gesticulation!
For this is reasonable amount that is affordable,or even, for Small scale, they will still struggle to pay.
God bless Nigeria

Tinubu incompetence has turned everyone to armchair economist 😂😂😂

In your rush to defend incompetence and justify the peanuts our workers receive, you forgot or mischievously refused to factor in the impact on aggregate demand, and consequent effect shift on AD will have on the GDP and propensity to save, which in turn drives investment and DDI.

For employers to pay 615k every month, I think it is not doable right now especially for private companies.

They should quit grasping at straws. 150-200k seems reasonable but watch out for inflation to wipe out the impact of whatever figure they settle for. Nigerian economics 🤦‍♂️

1room self con in Banana Island 5m.
Ikorodu 2-3m for 3BR
3 Families of 4 each would be sharing 3 BR flat or 2BR flat.
The people that will suffer and have increased suicidal rates are those in the private sector, big, but particularly medium and small sized companies or 1 man businesses and their workers.
Many 1 man businesses will just go extinct

This is a lie they sold to you.. Such a minimum wage will actually stimulate the country reduce corruption, improve labor dignity.. Price of goods and service follow demand and supply not minimum wage.. The only things that could increase in price to become expensive is housing and this is because with more money, people will want to live in highbrow areas and the demand will increase price and the price will I turn open up more real estate places...
Politicians are already receiving high wage and still nothing..
Infact high winimum wage will ensure cheap food but most of all reduce corruption in civil service which is the actual problem of the country

Re: Nigerian Workers Release Breakdown Of Proposed ₦‎615,000 Minimum Wage by CharleyBright(m): 9:33am On May 04
N615,000 minimum wage is not feasible.
Labour unions are being selfish.
What happens to all other people that are not civil servant and won't be paid N615k? No be same market everyone go buy from? The civil servants will have much more to spend, while the the pepper seller and vulcanizer man on the streets have less to spend.
When FG removed fuel subsidy, didn't it affect everyone , so why would labour unions be demanding for 615k for workers alone?.
What about the inflationary effects on the economy?
Best the FG should do is double present minimum wage of 30k and make it 60k. Any worker that don't want it should resign and go home.
