With the present state of the country, a coastal highway shouldn't be on the scale of preference of the federal government, if only insecurity and lack of electricity can be fought to stand still. There is hope. |

People fail to see the real hand writing on the wall. This is Tinubu plan to enrich and beautify Lagos with federal funds and then when he is out the project would had been 90% around the west and it shall be called coastal road and all tourism can take place in the western region. Sense! |

The below part of your post got me thinking. My suggestion is that if you are writing for a wider audience please avoid this pit falls. It makes you look more like an emotional blackmailer. For the fact that he didn't ask before did not mean that he can't ask now. I. Would rather remove this part and focus on addressing the issues he raise head-on. Because Landmark does not complain does not mean that the deal was good or bad for the general public. You also asked if he wanted you guys to talk about the shady deals of his boss. I am sorry that also is immaterial to the issue. That you chose not to expose the dirty deals of his boss does not mean he should not expose that of others unless you reached an agreement with him on that in which case I could understand that you are questioning his integrity as a person otherwise this your point does not make sense. emkz: |

Rufai is nothing but a narcissistic egomaniac with a delusional sense of self worth. No one with common sense will take this fool seriously. |

jeff1993:One of the xtics of a sore loser is the ability to think objectively. The coastal project won't stop other road projects. Infact, more beach owners like oniru, and Mami resort were affected, but no single noise from them. Everything about the sore loser is victimization. Feb 25th election really dealt a big blow to you guys. |

nedu666:I think part of the reason or the reasons they will give is because of the protests and destruction of the toll booths. I am not holding brief for hi tech or Tinubu. I am just stating the facts as the are today. The road is not being built by the govt. …that is a major flaw in the arguments by the likes of Obi and Arise tv crew. If the project fails like it did with lekki then people can have a point but let us make the right (and factual) points when we argue. |

Hammylawali:Exactly. When you see people downplaying all the potential benefits of this project, I know no explanation will make sense to them. Seriously, we have been stuck with governments that only believes in paying salaries and repairing infrastructures built many years ago when the Nigeria population and infrastructure need is not what it is today. They have no vision and no master plan. Now we have a government that for the first time is embarking on a new and major infrastructure project in the south that will greatly impact many states along that corridor and we are busy attacking it and claiming it is not needed at this time. Do they think there will ever be a good time to pursue mega projects like this? |

shugamummy:Stop over hyping a serial party defector and a man who performed woefully in Anambra State for 8years. Your Pandora fraudster siphoned Anambra State funds and stashed the funds in a foreign account, invested Anambra money in personal business and his children account and he was ferrying #250million raw cash monthly to his hideout. #250m was a lot then, considering the allocation of Anambra State then. Obingo is a fraudster and failure in all ramifications. This is what obingo said about buildings he demolished during his tenure, he stated clearly he would not pay compensation. https://www.facebook.com/femi.jacobidogun/videos/829138445746895/?mibextid=Nif5oz |

helinues:Same way you couldn't replicate Ajaokuta white elephant and Kano Maradi rail. That's like a man living and selling onions in Mushin asking " all those in fine houses in Lekki, why can't we build same in Mushin" Because you look out for fancy at the expense of common sense and ability to fund it. A country without power supply wants to compete with Europe |

My own concern is, why Hitech? What has this company accomplished to secure such a massive project? Lagos - Ibadan Road, 127.6km, was given to two major contractors (Berger and RCC), while a 700km coastal road with a rail line, a first of its kind project, was awarded to a relatively unknown company. Naija na wao! Fuethermore, If Nigeria has the resources, why not prioritize fixing our failed roads like Shagamu - Benin, Benin to Warri, Benin - Auchi - Okene - Abuja, Jos - Forest - Keffi/Akwanga, Markudi - Vandekya - Ogoja - Calabar, etc., instead of investing in infrastructure projects that might never materialize? Just like the Ojaokuta steel plant, Aladja Steel plant, and our struggling refineries, it raises questions about how this government's allocate our scarce resources. My 2cent. emkz:

Alliswell248:I don't live in Nigeria but feedback from those back home, is not indicating improvement...some have not had light for days. I believe if a survey is done in Nigeria, those with at least 10hrs of electricity a day no go dey in the majority. |

emkz:This coastal road is a tourism disaster. Destroying years of beach front tourism to build a coastal road is insanity especially when that road was initially sited to avoid this disaster but for some selfish, retarded and dark reasons was relocated to the water front to destroy thousands of businesses. Why was that road shifted from its initial site on the original plan? what is the explanation for this? |
