The ousted ex-Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu. recently discussed his impeachment, the political landscape of the state, the influence of godfathers, and the controversial matter of campaign vehicles allocated during his tenure.

Shaibu acknowledged having the vehicles but introduced a fresh perspective on why he might not relinquish them, characterizing those requesting their return as lacking compassion.

He said, “The vehicles they are referring to are the two Prado SUVs used by Lucky Imasuen as the deputy governor. The other Hilux was the one (Dr Pius) Odubu’s wife used, and the Land Cruiser was the one Odubu used.

“I took all those vehicles to the mechanic who changed their engine and refurbished them. Those are the vehicles that they are telling me to return.

“So, you can see how heartless men can be. I got only one new vehicle in almost eight years that I served as the deputy governor of the state.”

Deputy Governor refurbishing old vehicles recovered from a former dep gov. It's a shame. If I were Shaibu I wouldn't take it from the onset. He deserves new vehicles.

They don't even know what and what Phillip Shaibu was entitled to under the law as Dep Gov. They were just condemning him. Education is very important in life. Pls get it no matter the cost.

Shaibu deserve better than this. He doesn't deserve old refurbished vehicles as Dep Gov then after using it for over 7 years, you want him to return it.

You changed the engine.

Is engine the only component that makes up a car? Abeg return those vehicles. They are not yours. You should approach the state govt if they intend to auction it.
