But someone caught with N250m in his convoy is still walking about with his hypocrisy.
IF YOU WERE THE ONE PAYING MONEY INTO YOUR ACCOUNT AND THE MANAGER IS DIVERTING THE MONEY. AND AT THE END OF THE DAY, THERE'S NO MONEY IN YOUR ACCOUNT, WHAT WILL YOU DO?
DO YOU KNOW THE SOURCE(S) OF THE 250M IN HIS CONVOY?

He was indicted on 16 count charges. If his sentence is concurrent which is most likely is, he will only have to serve 7 years after which he's released to enjoy whats left of his loot
Could you please explain to me why it's 7 years?

He won’t serve that number, because the sentences are to be served concurrently, meaning he’ll only serve for 9 years.

It is proof of how most nairalanders and indeed , nigerians are. they don't read, na headline em dey follow. even the MODS who pushed it to the frontpage are an embarrassment as it shows they're only looking for click baits.

what's even funnier is since the case took 6 years to conclude, if he was remanded at prison for the entire duration of the trial then he might even be looking at just 3 more years in prison.

Gbagam!

121 years? That's life imprisonment in disguise.

Most of the bank managers and financial crime are like 5 and 6.
Read and understand. Its concurrently. He has only 9 years to spend in jail.

The jailterm for the highest count is 9 years. That's the time he will spend in jail for a concurrent term. They will still deduct all the time he has spent in detention and in most cases most prisoners don't even max out their jail terms. I won't be surprised if he's out on less than 5 years if he has enough money to cough out to the authorities.

It took a whole six years to prosecute him? What manner of sluggish justice system is this?
That's one of the downsides of the Rule of Law. Some cases like murder sometimes takes 10 years to prosecute (even in so called developed worlds).

There was a case I watched on ID. A man then 30 raped and killed a girl of 14. It took 15 years to prosecute him and the judge ruled death by lethal injection. He was then 45 . While in jail he went on appeal and that took 20 years because the law says he must exhaust all of his appeals. At the end the man lost the appeal and was killed at the age of 65. Now tell me, where is the justice?

You are smart. He might not even stay up to seven years. Since the highest sentence there is 9 yrs and other sentences is supposed to run along concurrently and I think they count both morning and night. So if we should go by that at most 5 yrs for him. My former boss the former MD of bank PHB was convicted for 8 yrs for stealing 28 billion when he was the MD.
But he's only staying for 4yrs

But why is it always hard to pass same judgement on high ranking politicians too when it obvious they are guilty of looting, for the case to be keep adjourning for years and later to judgement is to pay like 1% of the amount loot and go Scot frew

Kuku say life imprisonment
The 121 years is cumulative of all the years for all the counts he was found guilty of.

Since all the years will run CONCURRENTLY, and the longest is nine years, he will serve a maximum of nine years in prison.

He may even spend less than that if he had been in detention. Because all the time he spent in detention will be subtracted from the 9 years.
