The problem here is that most people in this Nairaland are Yoruba living in Iragbiji or Ekosin Odo Otin in a village in Osun state , they don’t even know what is Okpa so the moment they hear moi moi, their moral high and they bring out their tribalism card . At times , it better to just laugh 😂 and move out from their train because it ending no where .

Moi- moi is great, and there has been a lot improvements.

Enugu ọkpa remains the best ọkpa so far, the journey that moi- moi has been through ọkpa is yet to start.

If both are cooked using the basic ingredients (palm oil, pepper, Maggi seasoning, salt and crayfish) ọkpa wins. But the upgrades that moi- moi has experienced makes it more sumptuous.

I think Enugu folks should find a way to make ọkpa more interesting for non-Igbo folks.

Thank you.okpa ekwulobia is classic. Enugu okpa has nothing on it. That was what introduced me to okpa. Moimoi ekwulobia is also unique.

Okpa ekwulobia has loads of crayfish and is made with palm concentrate unlike Enugu okpa though, Enugu okpa( notably obeleafor people, don't know if I got it right) are the real face behind Enugu state okpa. Their red oil is the best in Nigeria. There is a reason why their red oil is the best. That's a story for another day.

I enjoy both, i don't understand what the comparison is all about. They've even dubbed me okpa man at my place of work.
I'm yoruba and i love okpa very much, some of my ibo colleagues told me they've never tasted it.

Okpa has high glycemic index (ie spikes blood sugar) while moin doesn’t. Hence moin moin is healthier, and there’s no way okpa can best a very healthy food like moin moin except for diabetics.

Or moimoi elemi meje (7 spirit moimoi = moimoi with diced beef, fish, chicken, egg, Orisirisi etc )
