Btw,
What a waste of court space and time.

If you don't set examples, others will do worse later.
If you steal 1 dollar from Walmart, they will prosecute you to the full extent of the law. Walmart is owned by one of the richest families in the world. There's a logical reason why they do that and it has helped their business. Most people now know that Walmart will prosecute you for any shoplifting. That's the way it is supposed to be.
We allow small crimes to slide then we complain when they become bigger thieves.

2 loaves of bread worth N2,600? And how much would the employer pay the lawyers? This is wickedness. Why not just take the 2.6k from their salary, and sack them? While not advocating for stealing, the hunger in Nigeria can push someone to eat food that doesn't belong to him, instead of dying in hunger.
Wickedness,
People are very wicked

So if they're unable to meet the bail conditions they'll be remanded in prison till August for loaves of bread worth just N2600 while a governor that stole over N84 billion is still elusive and enjoying his ill-gotten wealth. Some of these magistrate/judges have no functioning faculty. They should start watching Judge DiCaprio on how you make law to work, function and achieve the primary aims and objectives undecided undecided undecided

muyico:
thief nah thief
why u employed thief?
I'm very sure those guys didn't steal any bread. Maybe they quit without due process and the employer is angry because they wouldn't get a replacement soon hence want to frustrate them.
What happens to deductions from there salary if this is not witch-hunting.

If all staff steal bread worth #2,600 everytime they are "HUNGRY", how will the employer make his profit?

Ewo ni, drag hungry staff... As if they're the only hungry staff in Nigeria
Re: Employer Drags 2 Hungry Staff To Court For Stealing Loaves Of Bread Worth N2,600 by gabbasin(m): 7:30pm On May 06, 2024
From what I see here, the owner might have been incurring some loss due to theft by employees, so he is making examples of these 2 guys caught in the act. He's not only taking the emoloyees to court for the theft of the 2 loaves but trying to teach them a lesson by making sure they experience prison for the theft that has been happening in the past

When you have many pending sensitive cases lawyers and judges should be judging expecially our corrupt politicians who they prevent from appearing in court but flex their muscle on poor man who steals Maggie
