If you steal 1 dollar from Walmart, they will prosecute you to the full extent of the law. Walmart is owned by one of the richest families in the world. There's a logical reason why they do that and it has helped their business. Most people now know that Walmart will prosecute you for any shoplifting. That's the way it is supposed to be.
We allow small crimes to slide then we complain when they become bigger thieves.

Why take them to court. Why not remove the money from there salary.

So if they're unable to meet the bail conditions they'll be remanded in prison till August for loaves of bread worth just N2600 while a governor that stole over N84 billion is still elusive and enjoying his ill-gotten wealth. From what I see here, the owner might have been incurring some loss due to theft by employees, so he is making examples of these 2 guys caught in the act. He's not only taking the emoloyees to court for the theft of the 2 loaves but trying to teach them a lesson by making sure they experience prison for the theft that has been happening in the past
