A lot of people don't know the terrain. Even in Delta state, some communities don't have bridges due to the large presence of creeks
Bridges can be built on creeks

A bridge was built on the lagoon

Bonny a swampy area has been connected with bodo by bridges and road

No matter what, there's no swampy area in forcados that can't be filled up

The places that can't be filled up, a bridge will be built over it
You definitely don't have an idea..
Let's just forget about it.

The whole of VI was once a swampy area, some part of Lagos island,Ebute metta and Marina were swampy areas.

If a bridge can be built on the Lagos lagoon, a bridge will comfortably be built on a swampy area

If a bridge can be built from Bodo to Bonny a swampy area, then I see no reason why you will claim it's not possible

Third mainland bridge is like a dot compared to the bridge that you would need to cut across these areas. And I can assure you that federal government know it's impossible.

Chagoury is the one funding this whole madness. And we have Nigerian politicians that would destroy their citizens homes and livelihoods for a foreigner to benefit

Chagoury is not funding anything. It is federal government. I heard that the Lagos route was not the original route. It was change to accommodate Tinubu's vast land at Epe-lekki axis

lol so only a coastal road will develop SS, you guys must really be dumb bleeps .if your oil can’t develop your region what makes you think a coastal road will .. dumb bleeps .
You simply don't get it. Politics is all about PERCEPTION. Do zi think the costal road will improve the economy of my state*Edo) not really. However the opposition to this project, by the SE, is creating a perception in many in the SS, that the SE do not care about them. It may be sound and moral economics to oppose the project, but its bad politics. The 'Path to power' for an Igbo candidate is already steep enough. Why make it even steeper? Why do you think the North are not saying anything about the project?

Even though it would benefit my state(Port Harcourt) if it was possible. People shouting coastal highway have never been to the water front areas,

If you have ever been to Lagos and you know third mainland bridge. That's the kind of bridge you would need that will cut across the stretch of Delta State, Bayelsa and Port Harcourt talkless of Akwa Ibom.

These areas are creeks and mangroves sea.

For me what I understand it's going on here is that Chagoury man wants to use coastal highway tactics to claim Lagos water front. That's why his company started sand filling wether anyone like it or not.

The first picture below is Delta State area alone. To fund the high bridge that will cross these areas America, Chinese and Europeans will have to come together to fund it for us.
That's not the route grin

The point I was trying to say is that there will be so many bridges to be built. Do government have the funds to construct all?
Due to the kind of politics of 'winners take all', the aim of the coastal highway is to codely develop the south west especially Lagos state.
Why didn't the project start from Calabar?
Ask yourself who are those going to benefit from it?
No be 9ja we dey? Everyone is sharp man.

But why did you lie?

You have never been to Lagos state, instead of you to be more concern about what's happening in Abia state, you're crying over what you have no power to stop neither will your wailing make the project to stop

His understanding is very limited.

I will say it again, as SS person who strongly supported PO in the last election, PO and the Igbos need to drop this matter. There are many other things to attack the govt over. Tinubu has laid a trap for PO and the Igbos, and they are walking right into it. Support for PO is dropping fast across the SS. Come 2027 you can already see the attack line APC will deploy in the SS. 'The Igbos don't want the SS to develop....'. In politics you don't give you enemy amunition.

This one that you are sounding so intelligent, I strongly doubt if you are an igbo.

The simplest reason why it will never work is that in 5yrs time, if the Naira continues to lose 50% of value every year for the next 5yrs, cost overruns will render this project impossible to complete. Then Nigeria will be indebted to Chagoury forever. This means that we will be forced to concede our most profitable oil fields to the Chagourys.
This is debt trap that might eventually enslave coming generation Nigerians to the Chagoury clan.

Cavaet Emptor !!

So according to you, Nigeria should be losing 50% of its currency value every year.

You are wishing this to a country you called your own and where you have children and relations?
See how hatred and bitterness have rubbished your life?

This is the problem I have with mor.ons. Some are able to read, but unable to comprehend. I bet you failed all your English comprehension exams.

Nigeria is what it is today because of idi.ots who do not know how to deal with facts and figures. Every policy is done with wishful thinking and hail Mary's.

If you're old enough, you might have noticed that over the past 5yrs, 10yrs ,15yrs...., the Naira has shown a consistently downward trend.

If you recognize any economic factors that is going to change or reverse that trend over the next 5yrs, kindly share it here with us.

mind you there is a cyber crime law that outlaws dog whistling and hope you also know that Tribal incitement is a crime punishable by jail term, if you think these guys cannot track you down you are joking, now back to your argument. Do you know that the same time Surulere and other areas were being sandfilled in the 60s the British also considered sandfilling some parts of the delta, do you know why they abandoned it? the project is not feasible and it is very expensive and the ecological effects will be mind boggling. it is sheer stupidity to compare a small Lagos with an immense area that is the drainage basin of one of Africa's longest rivers( the River Niger). Make una dey use una sense when una wan argue.

Mention one currency that have been in an upward trend since the past 15yrs till date.

Even your Almighty dollar has lost it's purchasing power when your compare what $5 can buy in USA 2014 and what the same amount can buy for you in the same USA today.
Even though the naira has consistently lost values, it not @ 50% yearly rate.

I am trying to point out to you how miserable hatred and bitterness has ruined you, you are here talking about English comprehension.

Everyday report they receive on that project is what is given them daily headache.
They know that if the project definitely reach 50% of it's target àt the end 2027 will be a pass mark for Asiwaju in his coming campaign.
These people are very bitter both inward and outward....
Arewa never condemn the work, it is south condemning the project that will only bring benefit to them.

Whether you like it or not, the success of that road must be achieved
