Tinubu won't catch these thieves because he is equally stealing by proxy.

You raised beautiful points but you're expecting too much from Tinubu. He doesn't have the integrity, capacity, capability and energy to fix these things.

I'm sure you know this!

I am not interested in Tinubu's integrity, capacity, capability and energy for anything. Such attributes are expected from the collective. Unfortunately, a man with such attributes would be messed up by the gang of the corrupt, including those who refuse to acknowledge defeat in an election they lost.

What we need is a completely ruthless man who'd deploy extreme ruthlessness to set Nigeria aright.

With such ruthlessness, terrorists and their sponsors would be executed in secret. Those stealing our patrimony would be executed quietly.

Nigerians need to be afraid. Right now, people commit the crimes in our faces as if it is fashionable to do so.

Obasanjo was ruthless and got results in some areas. For example, if it was Obasanjo, some governors would never get away with the crimes they are committing like that one in Rivers State claiming he is the one to determine the existence of the Rivers State House of Assembly members.

With the way Nigeria is right now with brazen corruption, we need someone deadly to cut these people to size. Trying people for corruption has never worked as they find a way to ruin cases or drag them until they are ruined. Some of them bribe judges and find technicalities to make the rest of us look foolish. Look at one politician who was convicted of corruption got released due to a technicality. He is in the senate today making laws and almost became vp.

A lot is just wrong and anyone would be overwhelmed.

We had Abacha, Babangida etc. The struxture will not allow many govt to perform.

We must restructure to a true federalism or continue to sink

There have been some misteps in revenue drive by this administration.

As much as possible, the administration must engage stakeholders before rolling out some policies. They can leak the idea to the press to gauge public mood before rolling them out.

If they exhaust engagement, the likes of Obi and Atiku won't be able to find things to challenge and the administration won't suffer the ignominy of making reversals. Very soon, the media would chronicle the reversals.

At this time, President Tinubu does not seem to have a Chief Economic Adviser. Buhari operated without one until he set up an economic advisory body at the dying days of his administration that could not remedy the Buhari mess.

President Tinubu, you need an economic advisor now. Someone who fully understands development economics. We also need to stop the craze for FDIs and needless junketing that bring no useful results until we fix our internal issues. No one will invest in the current climate of flip flop policies.

Banks are declaring profits that we cannot seem to justify. The guy in Ministry of Steel says he needs $2billion dollars to fix Ajaokuta Steel Mill. Can't our banks or a consortium thereof declaring strange profits finance these deals and can't we find local technology to revitalize that place? If we don't have the technology, how about hiring internstional consultants to teach our engineers?

Also, why is Akpabio complaining about illegal mining and foreigners making more money than Nigeria? Its like the National Security Adviser openly complaining that security is getting worse. What are we doing there?

Can't we also get the stupendously wealthy to mine our resources for us? Why is Dangote not involved in mining? The guy in BUA, Tony Elumelu? Must we bring in foreigners to mine our resources? Does that not create a security problem?

I hear that local politicians, religious leaders and thugs connive with the foreigners to illegally steal our resources. The Chinese, Lebanese and francophone West African nationals are the worst culprits. Who has been jailed or deported?

President Tinubu, Nigeria is bleeding on all fronts. Crude oil theft is rampant. Let us find ways to plug these leakages and let government revenue get to the government and be used for public good.

I see no reason why someone stealing our crude oil or illegally mining our resources is alive. Wipe them off the face of the earth and show no sympathy, whoever they are.

Finally, it is not right to want to put more pressure on the citizens right now. The government needs to talk to itself too.

We need financial restructuring.

Who signed that law? Do they know what is 0.5%? If you transfer 100million, you have to pay 500k to FG. They are taking money from Capital not interest. Money from physical money. You don't tax physical money. You tax trade. That means when you move your money around, you end up losing millions to gov? You can do a business of 100m and not make 500k as profit. Why are people still sitting at home?

Banks in the US charge money for funds transfers. They call it fees.

My take is that extensive consultations be done before rolling out these things.

Like I said, we have a revenue problem. Attempts to improve the revenue standing are welcome. I only ask that some initial measures be taken to plug leakages before rolling out these long-term measures.

I also think it may be useful to capture the unbanked population first instead of scaring them away.

For you to even have the discussion, you must be ruthless. IBB's major undoing was SAP and June 12. Abacha was a kleptomaniac and abused human rights. But they were effective leaders.

Remember Abacha had a hit squad.

Who was the terrorist that could hold this nation to ransom? IBB had his friends executed for threatening national security. Do the present day politicians have the balls to sign death warrants or order hits on terrorists and sponsors?

I live in US. Fund transfer is free. Completely free. You have options. You can use zelle, venmo or cashapps and same day delayed bank to bank transactions with no fees. Don't say what you don't know. You only have fees for wire transfer which is normal. What you have is a monthly payment of $1 - $10 to operate an account and that is for some certain account which is fast fading off. Banks now offer you extra money say 1% for using their debit cards to buy anything. Stop providing people with misinformation! Let me attach a few examples.

As seen in Quora. I won't disclose how I found out about it.

Bank transfers in the US can be relatively expensive compared to some other countries for a few reasons:

Interchange fees: When money is transferred between different banks, they may charge interchange fees to cover the costs of processing the transaction. These fees can vary between banks and can add to the overall cost of the transfer.

Wire transfer fees: Wire transfers, which are one method of transferring money between banks, can be particularly expensive in the US. Banks often charge fees for both outgoing and incoming wire transfers, which can range from $20 to $30 or more per transfer. These fees can add up, especially for international transfers.

Regulatory requirements: Banks in the US are subject to various regulations designed to prevent money laundering and fraud. Compliance with these regulations can add costs to the process of transferring money, which may be passed on to consumers in the form of higher fees.

Lack of competition: The US banking system is dominated by a relatively small number of large banks, which may have less incentive to offer lower transfer fees due to limited competition. In some other countries with more competitive banking sectors, transfer fees may be lower as banks compete for customers.

Legacy systems: Some banks in the US still rely on older, legacy systems for processing payments, which can be less efficient and more costly than newer technologies used in other countries.

Different types of transfers: Different types of transfers have different costs associated with them. For example, ACH (Automated Clearing House) transfers are generally cheaper than wire transfers but can take longer to process.

Overall, a combination of factors such as interchange fees, wire transfer fees, regulatory requirements, competition, legacy systems, and the types of transfers used can contribute to the relatively higher cost of bank transfers in the US compared to some other countries.

Do you live in the US?

Why blame the government for enacting a law made years ago. You cannot be blaming Tinubu for something that was deliberated and it passed the reading of both chambers and was signed by the former President.

Well cyber security is big deal and to keep a country secure from internal and external cyber threat is no joke.

Hope ONS uses the money judiciously that’s my take in this.

I say some few banks charges on certain account like bank to bank immediate transfer. when you delay its free. But those bank also have zelle in their app that is free. Wire transfer is a different thing entirely. You don't have to do it. And all these were old practices. Mind you, these charges originated from banks for providing you services but Nigerians govt are encroaching into people money in banks to pay tax. To get those money, you have most likely paid your tax. You don't go to peoples capital . That is a greedy thief
